Rumors – Galaxy S3 features a SUPER AMOLED 720 display
Call it rumors, call it news, call it whatever you want, but the fact remains that Samsung’s Galaxy S3 is one of the most talked devices in the market for the past few months. There have been new rumors in the Korean market that the Galaxy S3 will come with a 4.65- inch Super AMOLED display with a whopping 1280 x 720 resolution. According to DDaily this would be Samsung’s first non-Pentile phone display which would reach High Definition. This screen is found currently in the Galaxy Nexus and the Galaxy S2 HD LTE.
Currently the HTC One X’s 720p Super LCD 2 is supposed to be the best screen around according to most critics. Samsung intends to 1-up HTC by giving the same resolution on a Super AMOLED display. The pixel density of the Galaxy S3 is rumored to be around 316ppi which is a few dots less than the Retina display of the iPhone 4GS, but its sure to give iPhone a run for its money.
The Galaxy S3 is currently being carrier tested in Korea at the moment, but according to a Samsung spokesperson it should be done earlier than the usual duration of two months. We think otherwise as the S3 is equipped with a quad -core processor as well as LTE, so chances are it would take a bit longer than expected.
