Nexus 4

Even though Google and LG couldn’t do a grand unveiling of the Nexus 4 at its New York City event this morning thanks to Miss Hurricane Sandy, the search giant along with LG did manage to proudly announce the LG Nexus 4 in a much awaited press-release this morning. After months of speculation, Google have finally raised the curtains on their much awaited successor to its impressive line of Nexus smartphones. The fourth installment in the long line of Google’s flagship pure Android devices has been manufactured by LG. Initially the two previous Nexus versions namely the Google Nexus S and the Galaxy Nexus were both manufactured by Samsung while the very first Google’s pure android device was manufactured by HTC.

The LG Nexus 4 comes parceled with a 4.7 inch IPS 1280×768 resolution display, a quad-core Qualcomm’s Snapdragon S4 Pro processor, 2GB of RAM, an 8 megapixel camera with the ability to shoot 1080p HD video, and on the opposite side of that will be an HD front-facing camera for video calls, NFC support, wireless charging, a 2,100 mAh battery and last but certainly not the least, Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. That’s right folks !!

This beast of a device would be running on Google’s next big update to its already renowned Android Jelly Bean. A few people (including myself) were left a wee bit disappointed at this news though as we were all expecting Google to announce the next big Android version to follow its successor Jelly Bean in the from of Android “Lime Pie” but (unfortunately) no such thing was announced. The device which is set to be launched on November 13th would be available in two variants i.e. 8GB and 16GB both being priced at $300 and $350 respectively. Residents of US, UK, Canada, Germany, France, Spain and Australia can expect it on that date, while other regions could start getting their hands on it by the end of November.
