Android Birthday

“Birthdays are joyous moments of celebrating one’s existence in this world”

Throwing light on the above quote, we would like to wish Android a very Happy 5th Birthday !! It was exactly five years ago when  Andy Rubin and Chris White had a vision of revolutionizing the mobile world which was eventually made possible when Android Inc. was taken over by the California based search giants, Google. From that day onward, it has been nothing but an amazing joyride for users of all generation. What started as a simple open source OS in the form of Android 1.5 cupcake has now reached unimaginable heights.

The Open Handset Alliance was assembled in 2007 consisting of heavy weights like Google, HTC, Motorola, Samsung, and LG, who all banded together, choosing Android as their platform of choice. This is what they all had to say,

Each member of the Open Handset Alliance is strongly committed to greater openness in the mobile ecosystem. Increased openness will enable everyone in our industry to innovate more rapidly and respond better to consumers’ demands. Our first joint project as a new Alliance is Android™. Android was built from the ground up with the explicit goal to be the first open, complete, and free platform created specifically for mobile devices.

With Android comes endless possibilities and with that said, the whole Talk Android Team would like to convey our best wishes to Google for not just  creating a whole new dimension of mobile computing, but also for entirely changing the face of  how smartphones are being used today.
