Vodafone Samsung Galaxy SII gets a taste of Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean
Samsung had not so long ago achieved greatness with their first “big” thing the Galaxy S II. The Galaxy S II is a 4.3-inch dual-core powered smartphone with an 8MP shooter and a Super AMOLED Plus display. So its good to see that the Koreans have not forgotten about this now about to get outdated smartphone (considering the Galaxy S IV is just around the corner) and giving it a revival with Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean.
The JB roll out has been a gradual one and the update came first to the international version GT-I9100. The SHWM250L (South Korean) and GT-I9100G (Europe and Asia) versions soon followed. Galaxy S II users in Canada rejoiced at the end of February and now its time for the Vodafone users of the Galaxy S II in UK to celebrate.
The Android 4.1.2 update according to sources is available via Kies, but check for the OTA update just in case. The Galaxy S II gets Project Butter , Google Now, Direct Call, Smart Stay and also Pop-up Play, which is a whole bunch of goodies for a firmware update which is a great thing. So if you guys in the UK have a Vodafone Galaxy S II then plug in your phone to the PC or check for the OTA update now! Do let us know if any other variants in the UK are getting the update now too.
