Samsung in the beginning of this year, started the revival of the phone which started Samsung’s success to the top of the food chain, the Galaxy S2. The Galaxy S2 started receiving the Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update. Slowly and gradually the update started rolling out all around the world, first for the international version (GT-I9100) and later to the various carrier versions. The update is available via OTA, so if you still have received it, you can either go on Kies or just wait for the update to come OTA. I would recommend waiting for the OTA update it is less a hassle. So those who have received the update what are your thoughts about the performance of the phone. Let us know in our comments section below.

  1. So it looks like your article is the only page on the whole internet that has the same build number as my phone!! If only you had some useful info about how to root it… :-/

    • Daraius says:

You can root the phone with any custom ROM all you need is an Australian Modem on it or if you can’t find that then the Israeli variant of the GT-I9100T would also suffice for you to do the same. Hope this info helps

    • Same here, a googlewhack. SuperOneClick can’t root it and the Cyanogenmod install won’t work. Any ideas?

      • I did root my phone after my official Telstra 4.1.2 Jelly Bean crashed.
Used one-click root and now running CyanogenMod 10.1.3 i.e Android 4.2.2
