Samsung at London yesterday officially unveiled its next generation of ATIV tablets, the Samsung ATIV Q. It is a first ever tablet which runs on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean and Windows at the same time. Users will be able to switch between Windows 8 and Android 4.2 seamlessly. According to Samsung you can use this device as a tablet or a laptop or use dock as a stand.
The 13.3 inch qHD+ (3200×1800) touch screen, makes multitasking a lot of fun, as Samsung showed how simple it was from playing Angry Birds on Android, and then switching to Windows for some work.
The Hybrid tablet/laptop packs a lot of power under the hood, with an Intel Core i5 Processor and 4GB of Ram. The ATIV Q comes with a 128GB Solid-State Drive, which makes it all the more powerful. Now, with all that power you require a strong battery, according to Samsung the ATIV Q’s battery has a 9 hours of battery life. The tablet also comes with a 720p Camera, 1 USB 3.0 port, 1 USB 2.0 port, micro HDMI, an RJ45 port that support dongle accessories, and an SD card slot.
Even with these many ports the tablet is only 14mm thin and weighs just 1.29kg. The hybrid tablet comes with a keyboard and a S Pen, so you can bring out the artist in you. The tablet till now is available in Ash Black at the moment, no news for more colors has been announced yet. Samsung seem to have outdone themselves this time, with there first ever Dual OS powered hybrid tablet , what will Samsung come up with next? A Dual OS smartphone perhaps?
