HTC vs Nokia
After months of relentless fighting and legal battles, it seems like the (never ending) patent wars between Nokia and HTC are finally coming to a halt. In a recent turn of events, the Finnish cellular giants have agreed to sign a new “technology and collaboration agreement” with HTC. According to a press release by Nokia, both companies have mutually agreed upon HTC’s LTE patent portfolio along with a few other patents that had initially started the war between two of the world’s leading cell phone giants.
Even though there was no mention of an official fees being paid by the Taiwanese company to its Finnish counterpart but what we do know is that they finally had to withdraw from the fight for a number of reasons that need to remain confidential.Here’s what HTC had to say in their official press release;

“As an industry pioneer in smartphones with a strong patent portfolio, HTC is pleased to come to this agreement, which will enable us to stay focused on innovation for consumers.”

After witnessing the long running feud between Samsung and Apple, its a good sign to see Nokia and HTC to finally call it a day between the two as far as the patent wars are concerned and just go along with their own respective ideas and innovations for shaping and changing the future.
