Samsung have taken out two giants this time, in the form of the Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 edge+. According to Samsung the the Galaxy Note 5 is built for the multi-tasker and the S6 edge+ is for those who want a high quality multimedia experience. Both devices in terms of specs are identical, except for the obvious differences such as the curved display of the s6 edge+ and the upgraded S-Pen found in the Note 5. Not only that both the devices run on Android 5.1 Lollipop with Samsung’s own Touch Wiz UX UI on top.

The Galaxy Note 5 is no doubt a beast of a device and has a beautiful design to match. The device looks likes a bigger version of the Galaxy S6 in terms of design (good thing or bad thing that is up to you). Also, Samsung have always been ahead of the competition, in terms of display and yet again they lead the pack. The Galaxy Note 5 has a brilliant 5.7 inch Quad HD Super AMOLED Display with a whopping 518 ppi. Under the hood lies their in-house built 14 nm Exynos  7420 Octa core (2.1GHz Quad + 1.5GHz Quad) processor with 4GB of LPDDR4 RAM. The back of the device houses a 16MP shooter with OIS and supports 4K (UHD) recording.

The Note 5 and Galaxy S6 edge + both come with Steady Video, which provides Video Digital Image Stabilization on both the front and rear cameras for sharp, crisp video on-the-go, and Video Collage Mode, which allows users to record and edit short videos easily in various frames and effects. Then there is Live Broadcast, which lets users instantly live streams Full HD video straight from the phone to any individual, group of contacts, or even the public through YouTube Live. Anyone who receives the YouTube link from a Galaxy S6 edge+ or Note5 user is able to enjoy live stream video from his or her smartphone, tablet, PC or Smart TV with YouTube connectivity.

Now lets talk about the major selling point of the Note series, the S Pen. The S Pen has been redesigned quite a bit, and now features a click to open function. So, just press on the S Pen and will pop out. That makes it much easier and way faster than trying to pull out the pen manually. Some of the new features include an all new S Pen Air Command, the ability to right on the screen of the device even when it is off. This will come in really handy when you have to take notes in a hurry. Also, there is an option which lets you take screenshots of the content on the page and automatically scrolls down to capture the next part. This means, you will have organized screen shots of an email or an article in a website, without any cut edges. A word of warning for those who are thinking of getting this device, DO NOT PUT THE S PEN BACKWARDS IT WILL BREAK IT! Not kidding it will.

Lastly the Galaxy Note 5 comes with a non removable 3000 mAh battery which is slightly smaller than the one found in the Galaxy Note 4, but it charges much quicker, due to the first of its kind fast wireless charging capability. We will see how this trade off effects people. The device comes in 32, 64 and 128GB of storage options and in 4 colors White Pearl, Black Sapphire, Gold Platinum and Silver Titanium.

Galaxy S6 edge +

Galaxy S6 edge+

The Galaxy S6 edge + is in all entirety a bigger version of the Galaxy S6 Edge. The specs have been upgraded, but the design and look are exactly like its smaller sized brother. The bumped up specs include a 5.7 inch Quad HD Super AMOLED Display with 518 ppi and 4GB RAM (S6 Edge has 3GB) and a 3000 mAh battery.  All other specs are identical to the Galaxy S6 Edge. The edge options on the other hand have been upgraded with now making it possible for the user to pin his or her favorite apps for quick use. Samsung have already rolled out the same feature update for the regular S6 Edge as well.

So for those who are looking for a device that has a large display then the S6 edge + is your device, other wise go for the smaller S6 Edge comes down to personal preference in the end. The S6 edge+ comes with fast wireless charging as well and comes in 32, 64 and 128 GB models. Colors include White Pearl, Black Sapphire, Gold Platinum and Silver Titanium.
