A recent interview with Ian Carrington, Google’s mobile advertising sales director for northern and central Europe about Google Sites revealed an amazing statisitic about the Android Marketplace.

It seems that the Android Marketplace has received 4.5 Billion downloads, after saying this, he went on to say:

“A year ago that was one billion, and that first billion took two years to happen,” said Carrington. “The last billion took 60 days.”

So with all the success of Android, will it become the best, most used and most popular OS?
