Motorola unveils the Moto 360 Sport

Motorola unveils the Moto 360 Sport

Motorola this time came out with two smart watches the Moto 360 (2015) and the Moto 360 Sport. The Moto 360 Sport is designed and built to withstand some real punishment. Ofcourse this means that you will not find the elegance of the standard Moto 360, but will get all of the experience and more. The Moto 360 Sport is the only Android Wear Smart Watch in the market which is designed specifically for fitness, so that is a first by Motorola. The Moto 360 Sport has a silicone construction with special UV coating that wicks away moisture and resists fading or staining, while side ventilation channels help you stay cool.   The Moto 360 Sport comes with a one of  a kind AnyLight Hybrid display, which has a basically two different types of screens in the front and back. This means that the Moto 360 Sport’ display will be easily readable even in the brightest days. Another cool thing is that the device has built- in GPS, so not more phone required to provide co-ordinates. The smart watch is able to tell you the way all on its own. Out and out this is after all a fully functional Android Wear device and will run all your Android Wear apps and provide notifications such as your mail or WhatsApp. The plus point is the extra fitness features it provides. The pricing and availability of the smart watch is still yet to be announced, we suspect Motorola will do in a few...

Android Wear now works with your iPhone

Android Wear now works with your iPhone

Android Wear smart watches are now rolling in from all directions, with watch brands like Fossil joining the fray. This gave Google the best opportunity to spread the Android Wear support to iOS users as well.  They officially announced that Android Wear for iOS is rolling out for iPhone 5, 5c, 5s, 6, or 6 Plus running iOS 8.2+ today. The Android Wear devices will provide the following functionality at this stage: Get your info at a glance: Check important info like phone calls, messages, and notifications from your favorite apps. Android Wear features always-on displays, so you’ll never have to move your wrist to wake up your watch. Follow your fitness: Set fitness goals, and get daily and weekly views of your progress. Your watch automatically tracks walking and running, and even measures your heart rate. Save time with smart help: Receive timely tips like when to leave for appointments, current traffic info, and flight status. Just say “Ok Google” to ask questions like “Is it going to rain in London tomorrow?” or create to-dos with “Remind me to pack an umbrella.” Currently only the LG Watch Urbane is prepped and ready to work with your iPhone, but the rest are soon to follow in the coming weeks. Google’s philosophy is that no matter which device you prefer, Android Wear will be with...

Samsung officially launches the Gear S2 and Gear S2 Classic

Samsung officially launches the Gear S2 and Gear S2 Classic

The wait is finally over guys!! After days of anticipation (and a whole bunch of leaked images), Samsung have finally launched their highly acclaimed Gear S2 smartwatch. What makes this device different from all their previous smartwatches is the fact that it’s the first circular smartwatch manufactured by Samsung. With the demand for circular watches on an all time rise now and with the recent successes of the Moto 360, the LG Watch Urbane and the Huaweii watch, Samsung also decided to finally make their presence felt in this particular market segment. Samsung, during their recent Unpacking Event where they announced the GALAXY Note 5 and the GAALXY S6 Edge Plus had shown a small teaser of their upcoming round faced watch but that was just about it. The South Korean tech giants always tend to have a bunch of surprises rolled up their sleeves and this time it was no different. Much to everyone’s delight, Samsung launched not one but two different variants; the Samsung Gear S2 and the Samsung Gear S2 Classic. Both watches feature circular 1.2-inch 360 x 360 resolution (302 ppi) sAMOLED displays along with physical rotating bezels and home/back buttons. According to Samsung, the S2 Classic which is only available in black with a matching genuine leather band is especially designed to cater to those individuals who prefer a more “timeless watch design”. The Gear S2 on the other hand has a more futuristic design and comes in two color variants: Dark gray with a matching gray strap and a sleek looking Silver version with a white Strap. Under the hood of both the devices, you will find a 1-GHz dual-core Exynos 3250 processor powered by Samsung’s own Tizen OS (personally speaking we would have preferred if it was Android Wear but it doesn’t really matter as long as the devices look sleek and trendy…Right?), 512MB RAM, 4GB of onboard storage, Wi-Fi support , a 250mAH battery which according to Samsung is enough to last for 2-3 days on a single charge, the usual sensors that include: Acc, Gyro, HRM and Barometer, IP68 Certification making both the devices water resistant and NFC support for mobile payments as well as wireless charging. Both watches are enclosed in an ultra sleek 11.4mm thin frame that further enhances their beauty. In another major announcement, Samsung have also promised to roll out a 3G enabled Gear S2 with a beefed up 300mAH battery and support for (a first of a kind) e-SIM for making voice calls directly from the watch. Sounds cool doesn’t it? Well guys that’s all the info we have regarding the watches till now. As far as the prices and...
