Google starts rolling out a new refreshing UI for the Play Store

Google starts rolling out a new refreshing UI for the Play Store

Google is known for its regular updates and since the introduction of Pixel, the first ever phone made by Google the company showed off a new Play Store UI in a support video for their  flagship device. Now, users are reporting that the new UI is slowly rolling out to devices. This update includes new colors and a revamped install page. The first change you’ll notice is on the home page of the Play Store. A new shade of green has taken over for the Android-y shade we’re used to seeing. The big featured carousel across the top has been shrunk down and moved underneath the “Apps & Games” bar. However, some screenshots show the carousel has been removed completely. Moving on to the install page, the “Install” button is much bigger. The ratings and installs information looks completely different. They’ve removed the category icons, which makes it easier to read. The “More Information” section has been moved lower on the page, and developer info has been slightly reworded. All in all, these are simple changes that make the Play Store a little easier to use. So what do you guys think of the new updated interface? Share your thoughts with us in the comments below. Cheers!! Source:...

WhatsApp Beta gets Video Calling feature with latest update

WhatsApp Beta gets Video Calling feature with latest update

WhatsApp just got a new major feature today in its latest update – The ability to (finally) make video calls. The video calling feature is currently only available for the beta version of the world famous messaging app so if you’re one of the beta users, you might very well be among the first people to try out the new video calling service. Early reports claim that even though the video calls worked perfectly, some users were complaining of a slight lag which they felt even on a 50Mbps Wi-Fi network. Of course, WhatsApp is likely to address that; it asked for quality feedback on video calls, so hopefully it’ll take that into account before making the feature available on stable builds. For those of you who are interested in testing out the new video calling feature can download the latest version of WhatsApp beta from APK Mirror. Do share your experience with us in the comments below. Cheers!! Source: The Next...

Prisma filters now available in Offline Mode

Prisma filters now available in Offline Mode

Here’s some good news for all you Prisma lovers out there. Prisma which was launched earlier this summer, brought us a new way to process photos with striking filters that turn everyday photos into works of art. The secret behind Prisma is an artificial intelligence algorithm that essentially redraws the picture from scratch in a variety of different styles, including very famous artwork. The only drawback was that it required an internet connection thanks to the algorithm running on Prisma’s servers. As of today the company is rolling out a new update that lets you process images in offline mode. Initially, only 60% of the filters are currently available in offline mode while the rest would be added by the end of this month. Once the app has been updated, you need to initially download the filters which can then be fully utilized in offline mode. Since the algorithm is slightly CPU intensive, it might take a few seconds for the processing to take place so you will have to be a little patient. For those of you who have not used Prisma, can download and try the app from the following...

Latest WhatsApp Beta update lets you invite others to a group with public share links

Latest WhatsApp Beta update lets you invite others to a group with public share links

Even though WhatsApp remains to be the world’s most popular messaging app, the company still tries to constantly come up with regular updates and a plethora of new features every now and then. The latest feature to be added is one which was being demanded by users since quite some time now – the ability to add/invite people to a closed group without the need of saving the other person(s) number in your contacts list.   For those of you who are using the beta version of WhatsApp can get their hands on this new feature that comes with the latest 2.16.281 update. In-case you guys are wondering about the benefits of this new adding to group feature, here’s a simple example: Think of businesses or large groups like students or sports teams where you want to make it as fast as possible to add everyone to the chat. Instead of the admin having to take each person’s phone number, create a contact, wait for it to appear inside WhatsApp, then manually add them to the group, they’d just have to print a QR code or write an NFC tag, or maybe email the link to everyone, and they’d be able to join instantly. Simple isn’t it?    Another small but noteworthy feature that has been added is a little forward button right next to all shared media (images, GIFs, Videos etc.) making it relatively quite easy and quick to share files. Instead of using the conventional method of having to tap and hold the media file just for the sharing options to pop up, then selecting the forward option, this new feature is definitely a handy solution.    For those of you who would like to give WhatsApp beta a try can download it from the links provided below but just keep in mind that (as in the case with all beta apps)  testing versions may be unstable or may have a few bugs. The rest of you would be getting the new features pretty soon. Download WhatsApp Beta: WhatsApp...
