Then Ministry detached itself after announcing the policy guide line for spectrum auction through MI (Memorandum of Information). Then PTA came forward & operational part of the spectrum auction started and eventually spectrum auction was conducted in a transparent, competitive and in an efficient manner, In accordance with best practices across the globe. Unfortunately we could not have new entrant due to scarcity of time. Telco’s also showed their keen interest and confidence in the auction process. As the name suggests, Helpouts is an all new help service that will allow user’s to have a one on one interaction with a team of helpers from different categories for a nominal fee. Helpouts could range from being simple introductory tutorials for a new smartphone that has been recently purchased by your mum/dad and since you are too busy to teach them the basics, they would now have someone to help them out all the time ; or if your grandparents are interested in learning the basics of operating a modern day Smart TV, they would now be able to easily do so thanks to Google’s handy new service. The best part of all this is that if at anytime the services provided are not up to the expectations, then you are entitled to a full refund without any questions asked. Google made the formal announcement via their blog. “With Helpouts, you can choose who you get help from based on their qualifications, their availability, their price, their ratings and reviews”. Whether it’s an individual offering up their own free time or a corporation looking to add another dimension of customer support, you’ll be able to connect with people in a secure, convenient way, and you’ll be able to do it from either a PC or mobile. The sessions would include video conferences, screen shares, document collaboration etc and as mentioned earlier, and if any of the services fail to live up to their mark, your money would be returned back to you. Here’s an extract from Google’s official Press release of Helpouts: Help might be a quick answer to a problem you’re having right now, like how to fix your garage door, or how to remove a computer virus; or it might be guidance completing a project, like building a deck. It might be learning a new skill, like how to speak conversational French or how to draw cartoons; or it might be general advice on how to improve your fitness or your writing (I could use this right now). With Helpouts, you can choose who you get help from based on their qualifications, their availability, their price, their ratings and reviews. You can connect instantly or book in advance. You can get help from individuals or from brands you already know and trust, like Sephora, One Medical, Weight Watchers, Redbeacon (a Home Depot company), and Rosetta Stone. Once you’re in a Helpout, you can do more than just talk—you can share your computer screen, collaboratively edit a presentation, or record your Helpout. And if...

Verizon to shut down its unlimited package

Verizon to shut down its unlimited package

Verizon have stated that this summer they are going to finish off their unlimited data plan, starting this summer. The $30 unlimited plan is considered to be grandfathered and does not have space in their future plans. According to Fran Shammo CFO of  Verizon  Communications the customers who are currently using the 3G unlimited data plan, when they migrate to the 4G LTE network will be forced to change their data plan. The data switch is expected to be around mid summer, AT&T have already started to do this, which have angered a number of customers, and now Verizon is doing the same. The plan may not pan out as well as they expect it to. CFO Fran Shammo said “LTE is our anchor point for data share, so as you come through an upgrade cycle and you upgrade in the future, you will have to go onto the data share plan, moving away from the unlimited world,” “A lot of our 3G base is on unlimited. When they migrate off 3G they will have to go to data share. That is beneficial to us.” According to Mr. Shammo, the new data plan will be more beneficial for customers, as they can add more devices to the network, which would be better if you have a family or running a small business. People have started to stipulate, that this change will not be readily accepted by most customers, and Verizon might end up losing a few customers to if they prefer having the unlimited package. At this point only Sprint is offering one, so if your a Verizon customer do let us know what you think about this change and will you continue using this network. Source: Verizon Investor...
