HUAWEI’S NEW “EMOTION UI 5.0” WITH MAJOR REDESIGN – LAUNCH EXPECTED THIS FALL

HUAWEI’S NEW “EMOTION UI 5.0” WITH MAJOR REDESIGN – LAUNCH EXPECTED THIS FALL

Huawei has been the master inventor in the high technology products over the years. With its unique approach towards Android, Huawei has developed its own Emotion ROM, which has recently gained great popularity and is expected to be re-launched, as EMUI 5.0, after a major upgrade, sometime during fall 2016.  According to industry sources, Huawei has been working on a new major upgrade to the OS – version 5.0, which will bring an entirely new, smartly simplified UI, one closely resembling Stock Android. The current EMUI 4.1 used in the Huawei P9 smartphones is also very advanced, but the newly developed EMUI 5.0 will offer even simpler menu structure and navigation scheme.  Huawei’s Head of Mobiles Division – Li Changzhu stated that; the new EMUI has a new cleaner and minimalist look on the user-interface, while not affecting the original firmware module. This new-found push towards simplicity in the interface is done to resonate better with Western customers. However, this will surely not come at the expense of functionality or options to be customized, which play an important role in EMUI.  Emotion UI 5.0 launch will probably coincide with IFA 2016 in Berlin and in all likelihood, a new Huawei Mate 9 device will be unveiled as a superior smart device in technology and user experience. According to GSM Info; “The EMUI 5.0 will offer an interface that resembles vanilla Android, with a lot more customizable options. The changes are geared towards making EMUI more palatable to a Western audience. With Huawei’s strong presence in Europe and increasing foothold in the U.S. market, dialing the interface back will go a long way toward making its devices more appealing. The redesign of EMUI 5.0 is being led by chief UX designer – Abigail Brody, who was formerly the creative director for iOS at...

How to get Android 5.0 Lollipop on Samsung Galaxy S2

How to get Android 5.0 Lollipop on Samsung Galaxy S2

CyanogenMod has started to roll out CM 12 a.k.a Lollipop to a lot of devices, including the Galaxy S5, HTC M8, Nexus 6 and so on. Daily, more and more devices are able to enjoy Cyanogen’s take on the stock android build of Lollipop. Though many are still anxiously waiting for it to reach their devices. If people like me are still waiting and can’t wait any longer, there are plenty of unofficial CM12 builds all over the net. One in particular is made for a 4 year old device, the Samsung Galaxy S2. Those of you who still have this bad boy, can now breathe new life into the phone. Thanks to an XDA User Lysergic Acid, who posted the pure, yet unofficial CM 12 build of Lollipop 5.0.2. After using it for a week, the build seems to be quite stable for daily use, even though it is still under beta stage. Running the Galaxy S2 (GT-I9100) on Lollipop is a great experience. All the animations that come with the ROM are really appealing and just fun to use. The ROM is not very heavy on the battery as well, so that is a plus point always. No crashes in any apps so far as well. One thing the developer himself has mentioned that the camera app still has issues recording High Definition (HD) videos.  So, just change the settings to 480p and your good to go. I’m sure this will be corrected in future builds. Now if you want to try this, then you will be need to root your device. Rooting the device voids warranties and Talk Android Phones, XDA Developers and Lysergic Acid take no responsibility if you happen to brick your device while rooting it. If your up for it then, just follow the step by step guide below: Make backup of all your data Download the ROM and GAPPS  files from the source link and put it in your internal or external storage. Reboot the phone into recovery. (You will have to be using KitKat compatible recovery) Wipe Data/Factory Reset Wipe Cache Advanced > Wipe Dalvik Cache Mounts and Storage > Format/System Install Zip > and choose the CM12 ROM file (Takes around 4-5 minutes to install) Install Zip > GAPPS file (Takes a 2-3 mintues) Reboot System and Enjoy!! The initial boot up takes longer than usual, so do not worry if it takes a good 5 minutes to start. If you have done everything as mentioned, then you will have no problems in installing this ROM. Let us know in our comments below if you happen to install the ROM. Happy Flashing! 🙂 Source: XDA...

Check out AcDisplay – A beautiful and minimalistic notification lock screen

Check out AcDisplay – A beautiful and minimalistic notification lock screen

There are plenty of lock screen and notifications apps in the Play Store these days but one that caught our eye is AcDisplay. This notification app works as a lock screen as well and lets you see all your notifications at a glance. The app has a feature called Active Mode that uses the sensors on your phone to wake it up when you take your phone out of your pocket and shows if you have any alerts and then goes back to sleep after a few seconds, you can adjust the time duration in the settings as well. The animations are seamless and you can choose to see or ignore the notifications by simply swiping them. The app also has other features including blacklist, dynamic background, low priority notifications and much more. You can easily go into the app straight from the lock screen without having to unlock the screen (if you do not have a screen lock on). When you are listening to music on your phone, you can control your playlist straight from lock screen as well. Thanks to its developer Artem Chepurnoy the application is quite stable and works very smoothly. I have been using this application since a few days now and have not experienced much battery drain. The application currently only works on devices running Android 4.4+ (KitKat). Well enough reading about it, head over to the Play Store and download it now. Let us know if you like it as much we do, happy downloading! Play Store Download Link:...
