WhatsApp Beta gets Video Calling feature with latest update

WhatsApp Beta gets Video Calling feature with latest update

WhatsApp just got a new major feature today in its latest update – The ability to (finally) make video calls. The video calling feature is currently only available for the beta version of the world famous messaging app so if you’re one of the beta users, you might very well be among the first people to try out the new video calling service. Early reports claim that even though the video calls worked perfectly, some users were complaining of a slight lag which they felt even on a 50Mbps Wi-Fi network. Of course, WhatsApp is likely to address that; it asked for quality feedback on video calls, so hopefully it’ll take that into account before making the feature available on stable builds. For those of you who are interested in testing out the new video calling feature can download the latest version of WhatsApp beta from APK Mirror. Do share your experience with us in the comments below. Cheers!! Source: The Next...

Latest WhatsApp Beta update lets you invite others to a group with public share links

Latest WhatsApp Beta update lets you invite others to a group with public share links

Even though WhatsApp remains to be the world’s most popular messaging app, the company still tries to constantly come up with regular updates and a plethora of new features every now and then. The latest feature to be added is one which was being demanded by users since quite some time now – the ability to add/invite people to a closed group without the need of saving the other person(s) number in your contacts list.   For those of you who are using the beta version of WhatsApp can get their hands on this new feature that comes with the latest 2.16.281 update. In-case you guys are wondering about the benefits of this new adding to group feature, here’s a simple example: Think of businesses or large groups like students or sports teams where you want to make it as fast as possible to add everyone to the chat. Instead of the admin having to take each person’s phone number, create a contact, wait for it to appear inside WhatsApp, then manually add them to the group, they’d just have to print a QR code or write an NFC tag, or maybe email the link to everyone, and they’d be able to join instantly. Simple isn’t it?    Another small but noteworthy feature that has been added is a little forward button right next to all shared media (images, GIFs, Videos etc.) making it relatively quite easy and quick to share files. Instead of using the conventional method of having to tap and hold the media file just for the sharing options to pop up, then selecting the forward option, this new feature is definitely a handy solution.    For those of you who would like to give WhatsApp beta a try can download it from the links provided below but just keep in mind that (as in the case with all beta apps)  testing versions may be unstable or may have a few bugs. The rest of you would be getting the new features pretty soon. Download WhatsApp Beta: WhatsApp...

How to play PS4 games on your Android device – [Video]

How to play PS4 games on your Android device – [Video]

One of the perks of owning a PS4 is the remote play functionality that the console offers. For those of you who are unfamiliar with Remote Play, here’s a quick look. The Remote Play feature lets users cast their consoles content on any external device such as a laptop, tablet and even a smartphone. Till now, the feature only worked on certain Sony devices and required other phones to be rooted for the app to work. As of today, things are about to change thanks to our friends at XDA developers who have come up with a modified version of the app that runs on any device running Android 4.0 or higher. Just follow these few simple steps and you’ll be good to go: On your Android device, go to Settings > Security and turn on Unknown Sources Visit XDA-Developers and download the modified PS4 Remote Play app When the download finishes, go to Downloads on your device and tap the Remote Play apk file Follow the on-screen instruction to install the app Turn on your PS4 Open the Remote Play and tap Next Log into you PSN account The application will then connect to your PS4 Once the connection is made, you’ll see the content from your PS4 on your Android device with a virtual controller below it. If you rotate your device to landscape mode, the PS4 content will rotate and fill the display with the controls overlaid on top. While the PS4 Remote Play feature works perfectly fine, it can be a bit slow and laggy at times if your WiFi network is bogged down. For best performance, we recommend that your PS4 is wired into your router. There is also the option to reduce the stream resolution in the PS4 Remote Play app on your Android device. So the next time you’re in the mood to play but the rest of the family has taken over the TV, you have absolutely nothing to worry about. For those of you who give this a try, do share your experiences with us in the comments below. Cheers!! Source:...

Pokemon Go gets another major update

Pokemon Go gets another major update

Pokemon Go has received another major update yet again after taking the the world by storm when it got released a few weeks back. The much needed update brings fixes for a number of issues that were addressed by a number of players in recent weeks. Most notable changes include Nearby that has officially been renamed to “Sightings” and the ability to change  your username. It would had been cool if they added the ability to change the color as well but lets leave that for now. Here’s the list of all the changes that have been made in the latest version of the app – v0.33 Added a dialog to remind Trainers that they should not play while traveling above a certain speed. Trainers must confirm they are not driving in order to continue playing. Made improvements to the accuracy of a curveball throw. Fixed a bug that prevented ”Nice,” ”Great,” and “Excellent” Poké Ball throws from awarding the appropriate XP bonuses. Fixed achievements showing incorrect Medal icons. Enabled the ability for Trainers to change their nickname one time. Please choose your new nickname wisely. Resolved issues with the battery saver mode on iOS and re-enabled the feature. Added visuals of Team Leaders Candela, Blanche, and Spark. We’re currently testing a variation of the “Nearby Pokémon” feature with a subset of users. During this period you may see some variation in the nearby Pokémon UI. Minor text fixes Based on the very first point, its clear that Niantic is taking extra safety precautions more seriously in light of a number of road accidents and various other incidents that people are getting themselves into while playing the game. The update is available now on Google Play. So what do you guys think of the new added features? Share your views with us in the comments...
