KFC’s Watt a Box charges your phone while you eat

KFC’s Watt a Box charges your phone while you eat

KFC have a special knack when it comes to innovative technology. Last year we saw them launch the bluetooth enabled keyboard trays that once synced with any smartphone, let you type and munch at the same time. This time around, the company has again come up with another unique solution for its customers. KFC India is introducing limited edition take away boxes that come with built-in charging ports so you can recharge your phone and other devices while you are recharging yourself. The boxes called, “Watt a Box” carry a small battery power bank (actual mAh is not yet known) that can easily give your phone some juice while you are munching away on those Zingers.   The box comes with magnetic flaps and contains your usual meal but has a power bank integrated on its side. The Watt a Box also comes with micro-USB and Lightning cables to charge your iPhone or Android smartphones. The best thing is the power bank is removable, so you can carry it along. So if you happen to be in either Delhi or Mumbai and want to enjoy some fried chicken and Zinger while getting your smartphone charged, KFC has you covered with its 5-in-1 meal box. The limited edition Watt a Box can only be won through contests held at select stores in Delhi and Mumbai, or through an online contest on KFC...

Introducing BLOCKS – The world’s first modular smartwatch

Introducing BLOCKS – The world’s first modular smartwatch

Not too long ago we were all buzzing about modular smartphones which could very well be the future of most of our hand held devices. When we talk about modular devices, Google’s Project Ara and LG’s latest flagship phone of 2016, the LG G5, would be among the first names that come to mind. If these aren’t enough to make a few jaws drop, we’ve got another exciting entrant in the modular devices family – BLOCKS which is the world’s first modular smartwatch. What’s most exciting about these modular devices is the option to customize them as per your own needs. Same goes for the smartwatch, which offers a wide variety of options for you to choose from. The modules include: Extra Battery Heart Rate GPS Adventure (Module has a 3-in-1 sensor which combines digital humidity, pressure and temperature sensors in one). Flashlight Programmable button   Four of the aforementioned modules come with the watch and the good thing is you get to choose all four of them. The BLOCKS smartwatch is expected to release in October this year and will be retailing for $330 with $11 in shipping costs if you’re in the US and $15 for the rest of the world (Pre-orders have already started). Additional modules can also be purchased separately which will cost you an extra $35 per piece. We really like the idea of customizing your watch according to your own needs and even though Motorola offer a similar option with the 2ndgeneration Moto 360, BLOCKS offers something uniquely different. If you’re on the lookout to get a new smartwatch running on Android Wear anytime soon, then you probably should wait a few more months. The BLOCKS smartwatch features a 1.39” full circular 400 x 400 Gorilla Glass AMOLED Round Display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon APQ8009w processor, 512MB RAM, a 300 mAh battery, 4GB of storage, a stainless steel casing, microphone, WIFI 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1 (BLE) and runs on the latest version of Android (Wear) Marshmallow. The watch is also fully compatible with iOS devices which will surely make Apple users quite happy. Even though the market for smartwatches hasn’t quite gone mainstream as anticipated, the modular technology might just be able to change this norm and in doing so, re-define the future of how smartwatches can be utilized. Let us know your thoughts on this in the comments below. Cheers! How to run Android on an iPhone [Video]

How to run Android on an iPhone [Video]

Now here’s some interesting news that is sure to create a lot of buzz among iOS and Android enthusiasts. We have seen the feud going on for years between both parties and it still continues to do so with each new Android device competing with its Apple counterpart and vice versa. But what if there is a way to simultaneously run your iPhone on both iOS and Android platforms? Sound surprising? Well, a guy who goes by the name of Nick Lee has figured a unique way to run Android on an iPhone 6S…..well sort of actually! Currently working as the CTO of a mobile development studio in Brooklyn called “Tendigi”, Nick built a custom 3D printed enclosure which acts as an iPhone 6S case. Inside the case lies a Lemaker HiKey circuit board that runs on a customized version of Android Marshmallow. Using a lightning connector to plug into the iPhone, the Tendigi iOS app allows the two devices to interact with each other. Technically speaking, the iPhone’s screen acts as a display and from what we see in the video, it’s doing a pretty decent job. The case also includes openings for HDMI and USB ports and even has a SD card slot. The whole idea of an iPhone being able to run on Android was derived from a previous experiment in which Nick was successful in running Windows 95 on an Apple Watch. Do watch the video and judge for yourself in case you have trouble believing what you just read. So what do you guys think of this unique concept? Could it be adapted in the main stream consumer market? Do share your thoughts with us in the comments...
