Angry Birds Star Wars 2 releasing on September 19th

Angry Birds Star Wars 2 releasing on September 19th

Rovio have today launched a new teaser trailer of their upcoming Angry Birds Star Wars 2 which is a direct sequel to the popular title released last year. The much anticipated sequel is scheduled to arrive on September 19th and is going to feature a host of new features including more than 30 Star Wars characters from the various movies. The first Angry Birds Star Wars game covered the events from the original trilogy with players being able to witness and play with not only a host of different characters but also at the same time were able to explore the vast planets from one stage to another. Angry Birds Star Wars 2 on the other hand tends to focus more on the prequels of the franchise’s motion pictures that were released later onward. There are also strong indications suggesting that the ever loving Jar Jar Binks might also make a special appearance within the game but that has not been confirmed as yet. The game also features more than 30 collectible TELEPODS which are basically small character figurines from within the game that can be teleported straight into the action with just a simple scan of the QR code embedded on them through your device’s camera. Players would also have the ability to easily switch between characters within the game as well. The TELEPODS would be sold as separate collectible figures from all leading toy stores. Check out the video below to get a more detailed idea of how this new feature actually works. Another new exciting aspect of the game is the ability for players to “join the Pork Side” which does sound fitting enough to assume that we might be able to (hopefully) play from the piggies perspectives as well ? Till now no further details have been given by the company so it looks like we’ll have to wait for the game to officially make its way onto Android and iOS devices on September 19th to find out. Plants vs Zombies 2 makes its debut in New Zealand

Plants vs Zombies 2 makes its debut in New Zealand

Plants vs Zombies took the world by storm, with its unique and captivating gameplay and news of a second version was already in the pipline. Popcap finally shed light to that rumor and finally released Plants vs Zombies 2 in Australia and New Zealand. The game is still only available in these countries and the rest of the world will have to wait a little longer it seems. Part 1 was a paid app, but this version is supposed to be free, with those annoying in-app purchases. These days it seems to be the trend, but if the freemium version is anything like EA’s Real Racing, then we are all in for a treat. The soft launch according to Popcap senior producer Allen Murray was that “We didn’t want to launch in a large region, but we wanted to work in a region that had similar economic behavior.” This was mostly done to check their servers before launching the game world wide. Personally I loved to beat the living hell out of those zombie with the pea shooter! So lets hope Plants vs Zombies 2 lives up to its predecessors very high standards. We will shed more light on the matter as soon as the game is available on the Play Store...

Official Man of Steel Game launching together with the movie on June 14th

Official Man of Steel Game launching together with the movie on June 14th

The release of one of the most highly anticipated movies of 2013 is just around the corner and for those (including myself) who are literally counting days for it to FINALLY come out are surely in for a further treat when they hear this. The new (completely rebooted) Man of Steel movie is scheduled to make its worldwide premiere on June 14th and as per an official announcement by Warner Bros Game Studios, the official Android game is also set to be released the same day as the movie is coming out.       From what it seems from the initial launch trailer, the game-play is wholly based on 1-on-1 battles where different finger gestures are required to perform a large number of lethal combo moves. Different suits and powers can be unlocked through out the game as the story progresses which is based on a similar story line of the movie and that could be one of the reasons why the company has decided to launch it along with the movie. We’ll d0 a more detailed review about the game when it arrives on the Google Play Store on June 14th for $3. In the meantime, you can check out the official launch trailer video...

Android Gaming Tablet Wikipad to make its long awaited debut on June 11th at E3 2013

Android Gaming Tablet Wikipad to make its long awaited debut on June 11th at E3 2013

With E3 being right around the corner, it feels fitting for most companies to come up with their new devices during this time of the year. One such device is the Wikipad which has supposedly been in the news since almost a year but we never actually got to see the device in existence…till now ! According to the guys behind this new and upcoming controller-enabled Android gaming tablet would be made available to public starting June 11th, the same day E3 kicks off. Smart move on the part of the company isn’t it ? The Wikipad is a 7-inch tablet that comes with NVIDIA’s quad-core Tegra 3 chipset, 1GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage with a microSD card slot for up to 32GB of additional storage, a 2 megapixel front-facing camera, HDMI-out, GPS, Bluetooth 4.0, WiFi N and of-course Android 4.1 Jelly Bean (its an Android tablet after all). The gaming slate also comes with a special dock, which connects to the Wikipad from the bottom with a proprietary connector. Its somewhat designed similar to the Xbox 360 controller, though according to the company there is little relation to Microsoft’s nearly seven-year-old design. The controller features two sets of triggers, bumpers, and analog sticks, as well as four face buttons, start, and select and is designed to cover the speakers and flow sound through acoustic tubes out the front grill for better audio performance. The dock also has a port to connect it to a power source on the back. As per the company’s official announcement, the Wikipad would be sold for $250 and would easily be available from Walmart, Bestbuy and TigerDirect who are the initial retailers in the United States. Availability of the device in other parts of the world was not mentioned but we are anticipating it to be as soon as it starts rolling out in the US. With other gaming devices such as the Ouya and the not so long ago announced Nvidia’s own little gaming wonder boy SHIELD, expected to launch some time this year, looking at the price and specs of the Wikipad could surely make it a good competitor for the aforementioned devices. So which one would you guys be going for ? Do share in some of those gaming instincts of yours with us. Cheers...
