Android KitKat and Nexus 5 rumored for October 14 launch – [Rumor]

Android 4.4 better known as Android KitKat has been the talk of the town since the news surfaced a couple of weeks ago. Now the main question on everyone’s mind is exactly when we should expect to get our hands on it? Well according to rumors by AusDroid, Android KitKat should be officially unveiled on October 14th at a live Google event running on their upcoming flagship device, the Google Nexus 5. Let us all remind you once again that these are just plain and simple rumors with no official statement released by the company so far. Android KitKat promises to bring a bunch of new changes and features that (might) include some of the following: Firmware availability for older phones Fragmentation changes (screen re-sizing) Miracast updates New Gallery Visualization New APIs regarding animations Change android default blue to other preset palette colors New notification widgets Now the thing that has gotten us all excited about the new Android update is the “Firmware availability to older phones” option. Till now, older devices have been deprived of official updates due to hardware limitations or in most cases, not getting approved by the OEM’s due to device instability or some other compatibility issues so let’s just hope this rumor indeed turns out to be true. AS mentioned earlier, the Nexus 5 (running on Android 4.4 KitKat) is also expected to come bundled with a host of new juicy features along with a powerful camera which is deemed to be one of the major attractions of the device. One of them being the “Optimal Image Stabilization” feature currently found in the LG G2. Other new features are also expected to be there but for now that’s all we have for you but do stick around for any further developments....

Is the next Android after Kitkat Ladoo?

Is the next Android after Kitkat Ladoo?

Android has taken over the world by storm and the Asian market is one of the biggest users of Android powered devices.  A group from  the Indian Institutes of Technology (IIT) have asked Google to name the next version of Android with an Asian desert name. As the alphabet “L” is next in line, they suggested it should be “Lassi” (a thick yogurt based drink popular in South East Asia). OR   Another group of students from IIT Kharagpur wants the name to be “Ladoo” a ball shaped sweet which is very popular in many parts of South East Asia, and is used in almost all festivities.  The students are hoping to appeal to Sundhar Pichai, Senior Vice President overseeing Android as he himself is a graduate of IIT Kharagpur. If you all interested in backing these guys then you can also sign their petition to Google  through their Android Ladoo Campaign website. What are your thoughts on the matter, what do you suggest the next Android name should...

The Rumored Samsung Galaxy Memo – A Mini Version of the Galaxy Note II

The Rumored Samsung Galaxy Memo – A Mini Version of the Galaxy Note II

Samsung is the past has launched mini versions (normally they are 4+ inch display smartphones so personally there is nothing mini about them) of its flag ships devices, to cater to the medium budget buyers. According to our friends at SamMobile, rumors have it that Samsung are working on launching a “mini” version of the Galaxy Note II called the “Galaxy Memo”. The smartphone is pretty powerful in its own right powered by a 1.4 Quad-core processor and 2GB of RAM. The display of the device is a 4.5″  FULL HD TFT LCD, with an 8MP shooter at the back. The Galaxy Memo will be running on Android 4.2.2  with of course Samsung’s own Touch Wiz Nature UX on top of it. The news is pretty much rumors at this point, with no confirmation from Samsung so far, though the pictures look convincingly real, this could all be just smoke. So until we have more proof, lets not get happy just as yet. If this was real what would your comments be on it? Do let us...

Sony Xperia Z Google Edition rumored to be in the making

Sony Xperia Z Google Edition rumored to be in the making

With Samsung and HTC on the verge of launching their respective “Google” variants of the Galaxy S4 and HTC One (both flagship devices) respectively, it seemed a bit unfitting for Sony to be left out of the lime light wasn’t it ? Well that does not seem to be the case anymore. According to some fresh rumors that have surfaced today are hinting towards a possible launch of a special Google Edition of Sony’s flagship device of the year, the Sony Xperia Z running on Stock Android or Vanilla Android as its most commonly known as.     The Xperia Z Google Edition is stated to arrive sometime in July this year and just like all its previous (Google Edition) predecessors, it would be made available directly from the Google Play Store. The Android 4.2.2 device would receive all future software updates directly from Google on first priority basis as compared to its other Carrier or International versions. As far as the hardware is concerned, we are expecting the Xperia Z Google Edition to be fully juiced up similar to its twin having the customized Xperia UI. These are still just strong rumors and no official word has been confirmed by neither Google nor Sony as yet. We’ll keep you guys posted once the companies decide to officially enter their newest member in the pure Vanilla (Stock) Android category smartphones. Stick around...

HTC Butterfly S rumored to launch this month with new Qualcomm Processor and Ultrapixel Camera
