The Samsung Gear Fit – Hands on Review

The Samsung Gear Fit – Hands on Review

Besides the launch of its most highly anticipated flagship device of the year, the GALAXY S5, Samsung had other surprises in store for us. We’ve already talked about the  Gear 2 and Gear 2 Neo along with the S5 itself so now let us shift our focus onto the company’s next little marvel simply known as the Gear Fit. As the name suggests, the Gear Fit just like the Gear 2 and the Gear Neo is a smart watch….with a twist! The Fit, unlike the Gear 2 is Samsung’s first portable (and wearable) device that features a Curved AMOLED display along with IP67 Certification which makes the Fit (just like the S5 and the Gear 2) resistant to Water and Dust. Let us now take a closer look at what the Gear Fit has to offer; Customizable Straps and Themes Samsung Gear Fit offers you a variety of background colors, wallpapers, and clock designs for you to set according to your taste. The watch also features a cling on strap/band with interchangeable colors. Currently the Gear Fit is available in three colors: Charcoal Black, Mocha Gray and Wild Orange.   Instant Notification – Keeps you Connected Just like its predecessor the original GALAXY GEAR along with its other compatriots, the Gear 2 and Gear Neo, the Samsung Gear Fit works as your perfect everyday companion and at the same time equips you with instant notifications of emails, SMS, incoming calls, & 3rd party apps to always keep you connected.   Simple yet useful Interaction Other simple features include the ability to control your smartphone’s basic functions, such as, reject calls with messages, quick reply to messages and control alarms.   Fitness Manager – Your Personalized Fitness Motivator It seems that Samsung have been focusing on health issues a lot these days and this is evident from the services its providing in not only the recently launched GALAXY S5 but also its companions including the Gear 2, Gear 2 Neo and the Gear Fit. With the Heart Rate Sensor, Samsung Gear Fit gives you real time coaching to actively support and motivate you to achieve your fitness goals.   Extended Ecosystem – App & Device Compatibility Samsung Gear Fit’s compatibility with a number of Galaxy smartphones and tablets plus a variety of 3rd party apps keeps you connected with your devices. Samsung launches their New Tizen Powered Smart Watches – The Gear 2 and Gear 2 Neo

Samsung launches their New Tizen Powered Smart Watches – The Gear 2 and Gear 2 Neo

Samsung at the Mobile World Congress 2014 launched its all new smart watches the Gear 2 and the Gear 2 Neo. If you have noticed the “Galaxy” name is no longer attached with the devices that is because Samsung have switched the operating system from Android to Tizen which lasts the battery 2-3 days longer. The smart-watches do not have a drastic change to them where the aesthetics are concerned except for one. The bulging camera at the back has now been switched to a thin strip right about the screen, making the device look more elegant. The device has been upgraded slightly in some areas with one downgrade (ever hear that happening), with a few new additions as well. The specs are: 1.63-inch 320 x 320 AMOLED display 1GHz dual-core processor 512MB of RAM 4GB of internal storage 2 megapixel camera Pedometer, heart rate sensor, sleep cycle monitor and more Bluetooth 4.0 LE irLED Accelerometer and gyroscope 300mAh battery good for about 2-3 days The device is now IP67 certified which means its is dust and water proof, which is a much need option considering it is after all a watch.  The only difference between the two smart watches is that the Neo does not have the 2MP camera that the Gear 2 has. The battery on the device has been downgraded a bit from 315 to 300mAh, but Samsung have confirmed that this will last longer than its predecessor. The price of the smart watches has not be confirmed yet, but the devices availability is. Both the smart watches will be available by April of this year. Now lets shift our focus on the colors of the Gear 2 and Gear 2 Neo. The smart watches will come in three colors initially, Charcoal Black, Mocha Gray, and Wild...

Samsung’s Galaxy11 set to save the Planet from an Alien Invasion

Samsung’s Galaxy11 set to save the Planet from an Alien Invasion

Since the last few of months, we had been seeing some weird guys dressed up as aliens in black hoods making rare appearances during football matches that took place in Rio Di Janeiro, London and New York. After weeks of built up anticipation, Samsung finally revealed that it was their pre-campaign teaser for their upcoming GALAXY11 ad campaign that is to feature football stars from all over the globe with each player representing his country of origin. The company is using this campaign to showcase two of its most talked about devices of 2013, the GALAXY Note 3 and the GALAXY Gear Smartwatch. The plot of the entire campaign revolves around a fictitious scenario in which Earth’s fate is in the hands (or should I rather say feet) of a few handpicked footballers from different parts of the world. The list of stars includes Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, Aleksandr Kerzhakov, Landon Donovan, Wayne Rooney, Iker Casillas, Lee Chung-Yong, Radamel Falcao, Victor Moses, Stephan El Shaarawy, Wu Lei, Oscar and Mario Götze with each one being assigned different tasks in various departments. The four minute TVC has been an instant hit from all over the globe and has currently racked more than 3.3 million views on You Tube and also has huge fan base on Facebook and Twitter with the term #GALAXY11 being one of the highest trending terms on the both the social media platforms....

The Samsung Galaxy Gear Getting Better With Each Update

The Samsung Galaxy Gear Getting Better With Each Update

The Galaxy Gear was one of the most talked gadgets of 2013 and Samsung’s first step in making smart watches. Though alot of critiques hammered it, a few found it (including myself) to be quite a handy little device. One of the major complaints people had that, the battery did not last very long. Samsung listened very closely to these complaints and started giving its little smart watch a nifty few updates. The latest build  V700XXUAMK7 brought with it a bunch of new improvements, battery life being one of them. So you might have to worry about charging your smartphone more than once a day, but not the Galaxy Gear. Another cool feature which was prior only available via XDA’s ATN Manager App, the Galaxy Gear now shows full notifications from all of its apps. So for example previously it just showed you, you received a message, but now you can actually read the whole message straight on your smart watch. Not only text messages but you can also read emails, tweets and much more. The Galaxy Gear Manager App can be found on the Samsung Apps store and once your Gear gets updated the option to show “Full” notifications will come automatically in the manager app. If not then make sure the app is updated to the latest version. The update first had come in European markets, but now it seems to reach the US shores as well. So, What are you waiting for? Go update your smart watch via Samsung Kies if it already hasn’t through the OTA update yet. Believe me you want the update, it just makes the Galaxy Gear that bit...
