Q-Mobile enters the tablet genre with affordable new devices

When it comes to smartphones especially in Pakistan, one of the first names to pop up in most people’s mind would be Q-Mobile which has managed to overhaul the Pakistani cellular market with not only their vast range of Android based smartphones but also their new latest range of affordable Tablets. The company that was initially known mostly for its mid-range to budget friendly devices catering to almost every member of the society, is now most certainly one of the leading smartphone selling brands in the country. Following the success of their immense range of Android based smartphones, the company have now also decided to step into the tablet category and have already launched a series of elegant looking devices that are not only reasonably priced, they do manage to hit a punch as far as the hardware specs are concerned as well.   Currently there are four options for you to choose from the Q100, Q800 and the Q300 are the ones with a dual core processor while the company’s flagship tablet the X50 Q comes with a 1.2 Ghz Quad-Core processor, an 8″ XGA display, 16GB internal memory together with support for micro SD up to 32GB, 1GB RAM, a 5MP rear together with a 2MP front camera, 3G enabled and runs on Android 4.2 JellyBean. The X50 is available at all leading Q-Mobile outlets for PKR 19,500. Besides these aforementioned models, the company have also promised to unveil more exciting devices in the months to come. Samsung announces the GALAXY Tab S 8.4 and 10.5 with QHD Super AMOLED Displays

When it comes to making grand stage announcements, Samsung always tend to have the correct formula. The South Korean Tech giants in their live “Premiere Event” at Madison Square Garden in New York officially unveiled their new range of flagship tablets for 2014, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5 and the Galaxy Tab S 8.4 with both the device having almost the same specs, with the only difference being the screen sizes. As their name suggest, the tablets would be available in 10.5 and 8.4-inches respectively and would be running on Samsung’s latest Magazine UX. As far as the devices body is concerned both the devices would be enclosed in a premium plastic coating together with a perforated faux leather back. Both the devices would be available in two color variants, Black and White. When it comes to Samsung’s premium range of Android devices, the one common thing among all of them would most certainly be the perforated faux leather back which featured for the first time in last year’s GALAXY Note 3 followed by the recently launched GALAXY S5. Now coming to the software, both the devices would be running on the latest Samsung Magazine UX engulfed on top of Android KitKat. Samsung also had to make another major announcement as far as the devices software goes, aimed especially for the kids. Both the tablets will feature a child-friendly “Kid mode” and connectivity with your Galaxy S5 that allows you to receive calls directly from the Tab S via a feature they’re calling “SideSync 3.0.” Samsung also announced partnerships with Netflix to bring full HD 1080p video streaming to the Tab S, along with Condé Nast for Vogue, GQ, Glamour, content, as well as National Geographic. Marvel have also announced that they would will include the Tab S in the upcoming Avengers: Age of Ultron movie and have also promised that they’d be giving away a free 3 month subscription to Marvel Unlimited, along with Google Play with their free 90-day trial to Google Play Music All Access and free copy of Gravity for Play Movies & TV. As far as both the devices prices go, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5 WiFi model will be available this July for $500, or $400 for the Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4, with pre-orders beginning June 13th. They managed to do just that, with the launch of their two new 2014 devices the Xperia Z2 and The Xperia  Z2 Tablet. Both the devices are real power houses and they do not seem to disappoint in any department so far. Sony Xperia Z2 The Sony Xperia Z2 is a beast of a device, sporting all the essentials a Flag ship device should have and then some! Even though we had heard rumors about a similar looking tablet last year, but those rumors didn’t seem to materialize till now. No matter how awkward it may actually look but there are a few group of people who like capturing their special life events using their Tablets that may range anywhere between 7 to 1o-inches. Well, it seems that Sony have come up with a device which is sure to make them extremely happy. Not so long ago, the Japanese tech giants launched their very first detachable QX10/QX100 lens-style cameras that could very well be attached with any smartphone using Bluetooth or NFC. The only issue with these lenses were their inability to get attached with the larger tablet screens  but now things are about to change thanks to the Sony SPA-TA1 attachment for tablets. The attachments are for devices that would range between 85mm and 190mm in width which is definitely a huge upgrade from its predecessor that could only support devices having a maximum width of just 75mm. The Sony SPA-TA1 tablet attachment will launch on April 4th 2014 in Japan at a suggested retail price of 3,675 Yen (£21, €26, $36). Till now there has been no official word as to when the new attachment would be available outside Japan but there are rumors suggesting that it would be pretty soon. The recently concluded CES 2014 was not only full of surprises and innovations but it also at the same time opened a gateway for entirely reshaping the future. One such step is the Open Automotive Alliance partnership that comprises of big names not only in the Automobile industry but also in the tech industry as well. These include the likes of Audi, GM, Honda, Hyundai, NVIDIA and of course Google.
