CyanogenMod 10.1.3 – Android 4.2.2 Goes Stable

CyanogenMod 10.1.3 – Android 4.2.2 Goes Stable

All device soft-wares no matter which company, be  it Samsung, Apple, HTC, LG or any smartphone manufacturer after a few months starts to get boring, looking at the same old device again and again. If you are one of these people then this new would make you leap with joy. CyanogenMod are one of the leading custom ROM developers around and after the team was successful in raising $7 million via funds have become an official company. Then have finally removed the RC (Release Candidate) tab of their CM 10.1.3 OS which is basically Android 4.2.2 plus the CM goodies. This can be easily downloaded via their servers. With the new stable update you will get CM Account services which can be used to remote wipe out your device plus other useful options. According to CM this would be there last ROM based on 4.2.2 as they have already released nightly version of CM 10.2 which is 4.3. They are working hard to make it into a stable release as well, before Android 4.4 KitKat comes knocking next...

CyanogenMod welcome 2013 with new CyanogenMod 10.1 nightlies for Galaxy Tab 10.1

CyanogenMod welcome 2013 with new CyanogenMod 10.1 nightlies for Galaxy Tab 10.1

The year 2013 has got a lot of interesting and unique tech stuff in store for us. Starting off with Cyanogen (who still happen to remain my personal favorite ROM developers heading into the new year) have come up with yet again another cool new custom ROM but this time its exclusively made for the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 which includes the international variant Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1, the WiFi variant, the Verizon variant, the T-Mobile variant and the revised Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1v. The one thing (among others) which i like bout these guys is that they always tend to come up with stuff for devices both big and small and irrespective of the fact that whether they are new or slightly old or in this case relatively old when it comes to the Galaxy Tab 10.1 since it came our in early 2011.     CyanogenMod 10.1 nightlies features Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, and includes all the perks which come bundled with it like multiple user account options, a new settings toggle function, lock-screen widgets and more. Most of the files are right around 156MB, though the 10.1v variant will be a little easier on bandwidth at about 121MB. Now before you start getting your gear ready for updating let me remind you that nightlies are just like beta programs used for testing purposes only and not to be used by the general public but if you are one of those enthusiast’s who simply cannot wait to get a taste of Jelly Bean 4.2 then go right ahead and give this amazing custom ROM a go. An official word on the release date of the full and final version has not been disclosed as yet. As long as you know that your device is YOUR responsibility and that there is a chance of you running into some critical bugs, then go right ahead and download the custom ROM from the developer’s official download page.  Good luck with the efforts you guys and once again Happy New Year !!...

Nexus 4 only device that supports Miracast Wireless Display

Nexus 4 only device that supports Miracast Wireless Display

Android 4.2 came with a number of goodies, one in particular was Miracast, which is basically a wireless display support feature. A confusion was created among alot of people on whether or not this feature is available on all devices running Jelly Bean 4.2 . Google has finally come out to clear this issue: Just wanted to confirm that Nexus 4 is currently our only Nexus device that works with Miracast wireless display on Android 4.2. There was a reference to wireless display on our Help site for Nexus 10, but we’ve since removed that reference. Our apologies for any confusion that may have caused. This means that only the Nexus 4 will be supporting the Miracast feature up till now, even though devices such as Galaxy Nexus, Nexus 7 and Nexus 10 all run on  Jelly Bean 4.2. Technically they should support this feature, but till now they don’t. More information in the future would help us determine whether this feature will be available on the remaining devices as well or not. All those who still do not what Miracast is, maybe this video will help you understand it...
