Xiaomi in partnership with Smartlink Technologies brings the Redmi 4X to Pakistan

The world’s leading technology company Xiaomi recently launched the Redmi 4X in Pakistan  through distribution partner SmartLink Technology. The launch event took place at Ava Gardner, Faletti’s hotel, Lahore and was hosted by none other than the charming and witty Taimur Salahuddin AKA Mooroo. Audiences were provided double dose of entertainment with the hilarious jokes of Mooroo and scintillating performances by Pakistan’s leading band Noorie and Nescafe Basement band with Altamash Sarver who made audiences dance to their favorite tracks. The stunning Mira Sethi also made a special guest appearance who was all praises for the newly launched Smartphone, equipped with the latest technology in such an affordable price. Smartlink Technologies Marketing Director Ahmed Butt was quoted as saying, “Majority of the Pakistani consumers prefer to purchase smartphones remaining in this price bracket and thus this bracket has always remained a key market for all brands. We have confidence that Redmi 4X will be a hit within its own price bracket, as the smartphone surely outperforms its competition in the market.” Redmi 4X features a full metal body, is the slimmest in design at just 8.65mm of thickness and weighs a mere 150g. Equipped with a 4100mAh battery, Redmi 4X has an impressive standby time of up to 18 days! Bid those dying battery issues adieu! It will be available with a 3GB RAM and 32GB storage, so users can multi-task more efficiently, having more space for their downloaded applications and images. Redmi 4X will be available in the markets in black at a price of Rs 18,900. The smartphones will be available offline across the country and online at official mistore.pk and at authorised online sales agents online shops at Daraz.pk and Yayvo.com. Every Redmi 4X will ship with MIUI 8 which builds in several technology breakthroughs such as being able to clone apps and manage multiple accounts on the same phone. This means that users can have two instances of a messaging app on the same phone that correspond to different accounts, removing the inconvenience of having to log in and out on the same app. With MIUI 8, users can also split their smartphones into two accounts. This means that a different password or fingerprint can allow you to access a different home screen entirely, with independent apps and data. According to their needs, users can choose to merge certain data such as the address book and their call log history. The device has been available on SmartLink Technologies online platform since May 1, 2017. Creating a stir in the mobile phone market, Xiaomi unveiled three smartphones, Mi Max, Redmi 4A and Redmi Note 4 in February this year. It also...

Secret behind the smoothness of Huawei P10 and P10 Plus

Secret behind the smoothness of Huawei P10 and P10 Plus

Android has long been criticized for stuttering as time goes by. To tackle the problem, HUAWEI has joint hands with Google to conduct an in-depth optimization based on Android 7.0 by introducing AI. Meanwhile, EMUI5.1 and Kirin 960 have been further integrated and optimized to give full play to advantages of both software and hardware, thus delivering long-term smooth user experience. Machine Learning & Ultra Memory Technology, Guaranteeing P10& P10 plus Smooth Operation EMUI5.1 adopts AI in order to achieve intelligent perception through machine learning. By learning users habit, it will accurately predict users behavior, automatically allocates CPU, GPU, IO and other resources for apps. In this way, apps can be booted up rapidly with no more lag experience. By perceiving demands of apps for resources, EMUI 5.1 combined with Kirin 960 can allocate CPU, GPU, memory and other resources accordingly instead of fair competition between apps so that hardware resources are truly allocated based on priorities and experience demand. After 18 months of continuous use simulating heavy users, the phone still operates smoothly. Kirin 960 CPU, a perfect combination of high performance and low power consumption. ARM big.LITTLE “dual quad-core” architecture is adopted by equipping the phone with four Cortex-A73 high-powered cores and four A53 lower-powered cores, letting the two sets of cores dealing with computation tasks suitable for them separately. For example, booting up a navigation app will be the responsibility of the faster set of cores while minor tasks such as making phone calls and sending text messages will be done by the lower-powered set of cores. In this way, the two sets of cores work together for greater performance, faster speed and lower power consumption. HUAWEI has taken the lead in supporting new generation Vulkan standard graphics interfaces based on Android 7.0 so as to remove the limit of CPU on GPU and enhance GPU’s performance. Draw call overhead has been reduced remarkably and multi-thread performance improved for faster rendering, fully tapping the potential of octa-core GPU. GPU’s performance up by 180%, power efficiency by 40% and image processing speed by 400% EMUI5.1 system coupled with HUAWEI Ultra Memory technology supports real-time defragmentation, intelligent memory compression, automatic memory recovery, etc. As a result, apps are booted up 30% faster compared with the last generation. Memory compression ratio is over 50% and kernel algorithm is enhanced by 20%, delivering lasting smooth experience. Combined with Kirin 960, the overall performance is boosted by a large margin and the system is able to operate speedily even with multiple apps operating at the same...

Android O – New Features revealed at Google I/O 2017

Android O – New Features revealed at Google I/O 2017

Google I/O 2017 comes to a close and as expected we got to know more about the upcoming Android O, though we still don’t know exactly what Google going to name its new Android operating system. At Google I/O, Android’s Vice President of Engineering Dave Burke took the stage to talk about some of the upcoming release’s biggest features. They’re user facing stuff falls under something they’re calling Fluid Experiences. Picture-in-Picture Because traditional multi-window techniques don’t translate to well to mobile devices (they’re clunky, hard to navigate, and not quick enough to enable on-the-go), Google is introducing Picture-in-Picture. Just like on your TV, videos on YouTube or even specific apps like Maps navigation or Google Duo will automatically be shrunken down into a tiny window when you press the home button. This allows you to still see what’s going on, while getting stuff done in other apps. Notification Dots Notifications on Android are about to get even better thanks to a feature Google is calling Notification Dots. They essentially work much the same way as Badge Icons on iOS (only they’re not numbered) and place a little dot on an app icon to let you know when you have a notification. Long pressing the app icon will show you the most recent notification and you can swipe it away in the notification tray to remove it. Autofill with Google Autofill now extends into apps themselves, with Google being able to populate text fields — be it passwords, addresses, or anything else — away from the Chrome web browser. For instance, if Google knows your login info on Twitter.com, it can also autofill this info in the Twitter app. It’s opt-in, so you its up to you to enable it. Smart Text Selection Copy & paste is getting supercharged in Android O. It’s now intelligent and can recognize phone numbers, addresses, or even the names of businesses, automatically highlighting them with a long press so you don’t have to fiddle around as much with those tiny handles. The best part is once highlighted, Smart Text Selection will suggest apps to use to open that information be it Google Maps for addresses, Dialer for a phone number, or Gmail for an email address. Since it’s all done on the device, so no data leaves your phone. Android O is faster This was more part of Vitals, Android features that look to keep your phone secure, healthy, and optimized for performance. Google says they’ve done a ton of stuff behind the scenes to ensure apps are 2x faster than they were in Nougat. This is thanks to extensive changes they’ve done to Android’s runtime. What’s more, you’ll...
