Samsung Announce The Galaxy S4 Google Edition Running on Stock Android at Google I/O

Samsung Announce The Galaxy S4 Google Edition Running on Stock Android at Google I/O

Google I/O kicked off with a bang yesterday at the Moscone Centre in San Francisco and what better way to kick start the event’s three hour long Keynote with the announcement of the very first Samsung Galaxy S4 “Google Edition” running on stock Android 4.2 Jelly Bean or “Vanilla Android” as its most commonly known as which means that it would be the very first device in the Samsung Galaxy S series without the TouchWiz UI. Rumors were flying around since days about the device to be showcased at the mega event and it was confirmed by the Korean Tech giants yesterday.         When it comes to hardware, supported by both AT&T and T-Mobile’s networks, the Galaxy S4 sports all the high end juice which is currently present in its Non-Stock Android sibling that includes either the Quad or Octa Core Processors, 2GB DDR3 RAM, a 13MP Camera and plenty more. One important thing to be noted here is the fact that the Galaxy S4 would only be available directly from the Google Play Store for $649 and would be made available starting June 26th. Samsung further added that the Galaxy S4 Google Edition would be receiving updates directly from Google as soon as they have been released which is good news for Galaxy owners who usually had to wait for days or even months for their respective carriers to roll out the updates but that’s not the case with this variant of the Galaxy S4. We seem to like the idea of using Samsung’s flagship device in the purest Android form which gives it a little Nexus feel to it as well. What’s your take on the new device and which one would you opt for? Do share in your thoughts with us.  ...

Android 4.3 Features Leaked

Google I/O is just around the corner and rumors about the new Android OS are a buzzing like crazy . This past week we discovered the existence of Google’s new OS Android 4.3. Now, if that really is Key Lime Pie is yet to be found out but what we have found out thanks to HTC are two new features coming with the new Android OS. HTC had put up a meeting posting , and had said, they would provide an over view about Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) and Open GL ES 3.0, which they said would arrive on Android devices. HTC’s Dario Laverde later sent a statement to Slashgear that though the meet up woull bring out some surprises they were not claiming unannounced new features in their earlier statement. Whatever the case may be, we do know that these Two features would be talked about there. Bluetooth Low Energy or Bluetooth Smart is used fro heart rate monitors, key finders and multi-sensor kits (temperature, pressure, humidity, accelerometer). This feature has been supported by a couple of Android devices but it not an official part of Android as yet. Open GL ES 3.0 is a graphics setting supported by the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processors. This processor is currently found on the Galaxy S4 and the HTC One, and with this new graphics enhancements we can’t wait to see what new games will use its full potential....
