Nexus 5 – Sneak Peek [Leaked]

Google seem to be slowly slipping out leaks for their much awaited Nexus 5 smartphone.  Earlier we saw a glimpse of it on the Google Play Store (See picture below), but it was removed shortly after. This really ignited the anticipation of all those who are waiting anxiously for the device. Now was this a slip up or a smart move from their part? Another leak has just popped up with the device looking exactly the same as the one found on the Google Play Store, expect for one difference. The Nexus 5 on the box is “White”, while the one on the Play Store was ‘Black’. So, we know that the device has a White variant as well. The smartphone doesn’t seem to be completely white though only the front part of it is, while the back still remains black. So it would be interesting to see if Google take a page from their Moto X then we might see more colors for the Nexus 5, but personally Black is Black, What do you think? Gmail App for Android gets Updates, Are they Prepping for Android 4.4 KiKat?

Google has been on its toes rolling out updates one after the other for its apps such as YouTube and Hangouts. Though they are minor updates, but still good to know Google cares to keep on updating its apps. The latest app to get the new update is Android’s Gmail app, the app now has card type UI which makes for cleaner message viewing. When you select multiple messages now a tick mark comes on each message plus a couple of new animations, of course they would be minor internal tweaks as well. People who are stingy about their device’s battery life and keep sync off, there is a new feature fro them too, a notification telling the user when sync is on or off in the app only. The update though is only for devices running  ICS and above  i.e. Android 4.0+. Perhaps these are signs that Google are working hard to prep their apps for the next Android 4.4 KitKat siad to be out in October next...

Google, just a few hours back have completely redesigned the interface of the web version of the Google Play Store which now looks almost similar to its fellow handheld compatriot. The new design is aimed to look much cleaner and simpler with enlarged screenshots, with all the information now displayed on a single page instead of tabbed pages. The revamped design also adds a few new options besides the eye-candy looks that include easy access to a user’s wishlist directly via the web making it much easier to save a few apps for later downloading. Not so long ago we witnessed the re-incarnation of the Android App Market into the Google play Store which brought with it not just a name change, but also different ways for the users to personally connect better with the apps.
