HTC One M9 rumored to launch early 2015 with front facing Bose speakers – [Rumors]

HTC One M9 rumored to launch early 2015 with front facing Bose speakers – [Rumors]

Its usually this time of the year when rumors linked to multiple OEMs flagship devices begin to surface. According to some (very early) rumors, HTC have already started working on their upcoming HTC One M9, considered by many as the Taiwanese tech giant’s next flagship device of 2015. From what we have heard so far, the HTC One M9 will most definitely pack a punch so it seems from the initial specs that have been leaked which include the ultra fast and powerful Snapdragon 805 chipset, a 5.5-inch 2560 x 1440 display, a 16 megapixel camera with optical image stabilization, options of either 64GB or 128GB of internal storage, a 3,500mAh battery and much more. On of the surprise exclusions from the upcoming device is the fact that HTC have opted to revert back to traditional shooters instead of the Ultra-Pixel cameras that were rolled out with its flagship predecessors, the HTc One M7 and the HTC One M8. Another major talking point which has certainly raised a few eyebrows is the (possible) affiliation of HTC with renowned audio giants, Bose for manufacturing the device’s front facing speakers, a feature introduced by HTC and now adapted by other OEMs as well including Motorola. Its still not confirmed whether Bose would also be creating any special EQ software or will have a heavy hand in crafting the audio drivers that will go inside the M9, but looking to partner up with one of the biggest names in consumer audio would certainly suggest they’ll be getting as serious as they ever have been about audio considering the company’s earlier affiliation with Beats Audio. There are also rumors on the possible launch of a premium variant of the HTC One M9 which for now is simply known as the, HTC One M9 Prime. As far as the Prime’s tech specs are concerned, there has been no official word on it as yet but we are anticipating it to have an edge over the regular M9 mainly in the hardware/specs department. We’ll keep you guys posted as soon as we get some more insights on HTC’s flagship device of 2015, till then do stick around for more. Cheers...

Google Android One – Affordable Smartphones for the Masses

Google Android One – Affordable Smartphones for the Masses

Google’s Android One initiative is aimed specifically at developing markets. Low budget phones are available in abundance but they do not give the user the same fluid android experience their expensive counter parts tend to deliver. This is mostly due to the fact, the OEM’s put their own skins on the device which takes up the major chunk of internal memory available. This leads to lag and low performance of the devices.  Google has planned to rectify this issue with their Android One initiative. Google after listening to the cry’s of the people came up with the specifications for its Android One devices. The first generation Android One devices will all have the minimum following specs: MediaTek Quad-Core Processor 5MP Back and 2MP Front Cameras 24 Hours running Battery Micro SD Card Slot (upto 32GB) Dual Sims     In the software departments all Android One devices will be running on Google’s latest Android 4.4.4 KitKat Operating System. Best part is Google will handle the software updates themselves, which means as soon as a new android update gets released from Google all Android One devices will get the update , though first priority would be given to the Nexus devices. The devices will be priced around $105 to $165. Google has joined hands with a number of OEM’s giants for the development of the Android One devices, including HTC, Acer, Lenovo, ASUS and Panasonic. Though the first Android One devices have been developed by OEM’s you have probably never heard about, they being Karbonn, Micromax and Spice Mobile. Google has also partnered with the likes of Intex, Alcatel One Touch, Lava, XOLO, Airtel, Qualcomm and Mediatek. Google has initiated its plans from India and will continue to make available affordable Android One devices for Indonesia, Philippines, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal and Sri Lanka in the coming...

The Verizon Exclusive HTC M8 Windows Phone Edition

HTC have out done themselves this time, having a flagship device that comes with two “Operating System” variants. Confused? Well let me clarify, HTC have just announced another variant of their 2014 flagship Android device the HTC One M8 running Windows Phone. Only Nokia had successfully launched devices, with different operating systems in the past, their Lumia range to be precise. HTC as a company was dropping its sales for quite some time until the launch of the HTC M8, which raised the sales sky high. This is a very smart move, on HTC’s behalf as they are coming up with an already successful device and giving it another dimension. They already have Windows Phones, but not OEM has a flagship running two operating systems form different OEM’s. Maybe this is a start of something beautiful, and other OEM’s might be encouraged to come out with the same. Now talking about the device, the HTC M8 Windows Phone Edition has the exact same specs as its Android counterpart. Quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor @ 2.3GHz 2GB of RAM 5-inch 1920 x 1080 display 32GB of internal storage w/ microSD up to 128GB UltraPixel Duos Camera w/ 5 megapixel front camera Dual-band WiFi ac, NFC, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS w/ GLONASS 2,600mAh battery     On the software front, the HTC M8 runs the latest Windows Phone 8.1. It brings back Blinkfeed in the form on Windows Live Tiles, Cortana is your new digital assistant, and a lots more.  Only sad about it so far is that, it is a Verizon exclusive, so if you want to get your hands on this powerful beast then Verizon is the only place to get it right now. HTC announces the all new J Butterfly with a 13MP Duo Effect Camera and waterproof body

HTC announces the all new J Butterfly with a 13MP Duo Effect Camera and waterproof body

HTC seem to have a soft corner for its customers in Japan and this notion is evident from the fact that after the success of its previous flagship devices, the Taiwanese cellular giants always tend to have something up their sleeves aimed especially towards their Japanese clientele. Following the success of the Butterfly J in 2012, HTC have yet again come up with another beauty of a device with their recent announcement of the all new J Butterfly which in fact is a juiced up version of its current flagship device of 2014, the HTC One M8. The latest addition in the “Butterfly” series boasts a full water proof body along with a 13MP rear “Duo Effect” camera that even though differs from the 4 megapixel Duo “Ultrapixel” camera present in the original M8,  the secondary 2-megapixel module does tend to give a similar looking depth-of-field adjustment along with the other features as well. Besides these two aforementioned changes, the rest of the tech specs are almost exactly the same found in the One M8 including the 5MP front cam which HTC have rightly called as the “Selfie” Cam, a craze that is running absolutely wild these days. As far as the other hardware specs are concerned, the J Butterfly comes with a 5″ Full HD LCD, a 2.45GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor, 802.11ac WiFi, LTE-Advanced, 150Mbps 4G, 2GB of RAM, Android 4.4 KitKat and as mentioned earlier, a new exterior water proof body that comes with a IP67 certification similar to the one found in the Xperia Z and GALAXY S5. The device would be available in white as well as two vibrant colors that includes a red variant as well as a blue one all over Japan starting from tomorrow. The only thing that needs to be seen now is whether the J Butterfly would be made available in other regions as well as there has been no official word on this regard for now. We do have our hopes high though since initially when HTC decided to launch the original Butterfly J in japan a couple of years back, a similar looking model was also launched in the rest of the regions by the name of Droid DNA so if we are lucky enough, HTC might have similar ideas for this new beauty as well. In the meantime lets just keeps our fingers crossed shall we ! HTC J Butterfly Tech Specs at a Glance 5-inch Full HD Super LCD 3 @ 1920 x 1080 resolution, 441ppi Corning Gorilla Glass Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 2.45GHz quad-core processor Adreno 330 GPU 2GB RAM 32GB internal storage (expandable via microSD) 13MP rear camera with secondary depth sensor...

HTC One M8 now available in Red and Pink across Europe

HTC One M8 now available in Red and Pink across Europe

Since the last couple of years HTC have developed this trend of initially launching their flagship devices in a limited number of colors followed later by new color variants after the passage of a certain time frame. Keeping this practice into play, the Taiwanese smartphone giants have today announced two new color variants for their flagship device of the year the HTC One M8 catered especially towards their female users residing in Europe. The elegant looking full metallic bodied M8 is now available in bright Red as well as bubble Pink.     The red version would exclusively be available for O2 customers in the UK, while the pink version would easily be available for everyone. If rumors are correct, part of the sales from the pink variant would be donated for Breast Cancer patients all across Europe which is actually quite a noble move by the network providers as well as the retailers. A few months back HTC launched the red variant in the United States that was exclusively available to Verizon Wireless customers but as of now, if you’re an O2 customer, you too can get your hands on it starting from...
