The Infinix Month is an anniversary celebration of milestones reached by the e-commerce store and the mobile manufacture. Infinix Hot 3 – Hands on Review

Infinix Hot 3 – Hands on Review

Infinix has done an exceptional job in bringing great devices for more than reasonable prices. Most of which do not require you to burn a hole in your pocket to get. The latest in their range of extremely budget friendly devices is the Infinix Hot 3, which costs less than $100 (PKR 9,999) which is great considering the specs. We got our hands on a test unit and took it out for a swirl. Starting things off, the Infinix Hot 3 comes with a 5.5 inch 720p HD display (267 ppi), which is quite sharp, and the colors pop out really well especially the blacks. Watching videos on YouTube on the big display is a lot of fun as well. The screen is bright enough to be used in strong sunlight, but in order to do so the brightness level has to be put on max. The device feels quite premium, even though it has a full plastic body. The curved back sure does help this cause. Despite the size of the device, one handed use is fairly easy, though a back cover would be recommended for better grip.   Under the hood lies a MediaTek MT6580 1.3GHz Quad-core processor with a Mali400-MP2 GPU which is powerful enough to handle everyday apps. Multi-tasking (max 5 apps) is not too bad either, though there are times when the 1GB RAM does fall short, especially when playing graphic intensive games such as Angry Birds Action or Mortal Kombat X. The games work well enough, it is the occasion lag which gets to you. (Well it does to me at least), Games like candy crush work very smoothly though (Yes candy crush fans out there rejoice!). While sticking with hardware for the time being the Infinix Hot 3 comes with 16GB in built storage, with microSD card support (up to 32GB) which is great considering the price of the device. Now lets talk about the cameras, the Infinix Hot 3 comes with a 8MP shooter at the back with phase detection and HDR support and a 2MP wide angle camera in the front.  The great thing about this device is that, the front camera also has flash, which is great news for selfies lovers. The pictures come out quite sharp during the day, even the night shots are decent enough. Beauty Mode, Panorama and Night Mode are the other features you get in the camera software. Voice Capture, Smile Recognition and Gesture Recognition help you in taking group selfies. The Infinix Hot 3 runs on a 3000mAh battery, which I must say gives a pretty good backup. The device easily lasts a whole day with light to moderate...

How to Update Infinix Zero 2 to Android 5.1 Lollipop

Infinix Mobility has proudly announced that Android 5.1 Lollipop is now available for the Infinix Zero 2. In this post I will provide step by step instructions to update Infinix Zero 2. (Do not worry it is not that hard). NOTE: Anybody who uses this method and something goes wrong with their device, Talk Android Phones will not be held responsible in any way. If your device gets bricked, you must have messed up the steps. Also if you have rooted your device, Un-root it first. Well if you have read the above notice carefully then you are good to go. I would recommend to go through all the steps first before doing anything. STEP 1: Download the ROM First things first, you need to download the official Android 5.1 Lollipop update from Infinix’s website the link is give below: Infinix Zero 2 Android 5.1 Lollipop STEP 2: Setting up your Computer Now, things get a bit tricky! You will require all of the below files in order to make this work properly! Download SP Flash Tool : Download the latest version from this link and extract the zip file in your computer. Download MediaTek VCOM Tools: Go to this link and follow the instructions given. Make sure you disable signature verification first before installing this driver. For added help here is one more link. After both the above steps are completed you need to open Flash_Tool.exe (found in the SP Flash Tool folder). Click on Scatter Loading Look for a text file from the ROM you had downloaded called “MT6592_Android_scatter.txt” Wait for the SP Flash tool to compile its own stuff. Select Firmware Upgrade option You can see the images below to know where “Scatter Loading” and “Firmware Upgrade” can be found. STEP 3: Set up the Phone Now come back to your phone and Go to settings –> Developer Options –> Enable USB debugging. If you don’t see Developer Options, go to About  and keep clicking on Build Number until it says “You’re now a developer”. Then Enable Debugging Remove your phone SD card. Connect your phone to the PC for the drivers to be installed. (If you have never connected your device before) Remove it once phone is detected. Switch it off. Pray everything works!!!  STEP 4: Flashing the ROM Now its time to head back to the computer, you would already have the SP Flash tool open at this point. Click on the Download button Connect your phone via USB Cable to your computer Wait for the magic to happen! (The yellow bar below will start to fill)   The process will end once you see a Big White Tick on...
