Introducing the LG G3 – Simple is the New Smart

Introducing the LG G3 – Simple is the New Smart

LG has not been really discrete about its 2014 flagship the LG G3 in the recent past, but now its officially been revealed. LG seem to have built a real contender, improving on its predecessor the much acclaimed G2. The back power button found in last year’s flagship has made a triumphant return and sits nicely at the back of the device. The device’s body is made up of metal and plastic , reason for not making it full metal is  due to the fact that Qi wireless charging devices would be compatible. Display LG G3 comes with a 5.5 inch Quad HD IPS Display which has a resolution of (2560×1440), four times the resolution of a Full HD display (1920×1080). The display has a 538 ppi pixel density, making it one of the sharpest display’s out there in the market currently. Under the hood   The G3 packs a Qualcomm Snapdragon™ 801 Quad-core processor which clocks at around 2.5 Ghz. The LG G3 will come in two variants a 16GB and a 32GB version, but that is not all the difference, the 16GB will have 2GB DDR3 RAM, while the latter will be sporting 3GB of RAM.  The beast is powered by a removable 3000 mAh battery, which may come in handy considering the amount of juice the smartphone  would require to live up to its full potential. If memory is your forte, then you will be happy to know that a microSD card slot is available, which can support upto 128GB of storage. Camera The LG G3 has a 13MP shooter at the back and it is everything which a top notch flagship device’s camera should be like, plus more! The G3’s camera has a sensor right beside it, that is a LASER BLASTER, now what would be a laser blaster be doing next to a camera one would think. Well the answer is, it uses a a technology called “laser auto focus” which helps the user takes focused pictures fast, and it is very fast! The camera also has Optical Image Stabilization (OIS), and Dual LED Flash which is always useful. Other than that it has face detection, HDR etc.  Now lets talk about recording videos, the G3 can record videos upto 2K resolution with stereo sound recording. The device sports a 2.1MP front camera for all your selfie pleasures as well. LG G3 Smart Features                                     The LG G3 runs on the latest Android 4.4, KitKat OS, with its own theme wrapped over it. The UI has been given a nice little overhaul, which complements the very sharp display the device has. Old favorites such as Knock On and...

First look at the Metal Body Samsung Galaxy S5 Prime [Leaked]

First look at the Metal Body Samsung Galaxy S5 Prime [Leaked]

Samsung has been hinting at taking out a “Premium” version of its 2014 flagship device, the Galaxy S5.  Rumors for the Samsung Galaxy S5 Prime, that’s the name most likely we’ll see,  have been flying around left and right, but no pictures of the device had surfaced. That wish has been fulfilled by phoneArena it seems.  The pic shows a Samsung device, which looks alot like the S5 but has some minor body changes as well. There is no speaker grill at the back of the device, the bezel has been made more rounder from the edges and seems to be a bit small as well. Another difference we could tell by the pics was that the heart-rate monitor is built slightly differently as well. The S5 Prime has been rumored to have a QHD display(2560 x 1440), an Exynos Octa-core processor or a Snapdragon 805 processor powering the device. The ram has been bumped upto 3GB and it would be having 32GB internal memory. On the software front the device would be running on the soon to be released Android 4.4.3 (KitKat). The biggest difference though is suggested to be the material of the device’s body. Rumors suggest it to be metal, instead of the plastic we usually see Samsung devices made of. Well, these pics do confirm, that a new Samsung device is on track and we hope these pics are of the S5 Prime only. Only time will tell, what the S5 Prime holds for us, till then Happy...

LG G Flex opens gateway to new possibilities – Curved, Flexible Displays is the Future

LG G Flex opens gateway to new possibilities – Curved, Flexible Displays is the Future

The future of smartphones is here!, according to LG. The LG G Flex is the right step in the direction where smartphones will be either bendable or curved. Why get a flexible, bendable or curved phone? “Probably we got bored,” said LG’s Ramchan Woo ( Head of the LTE Product Planning Division at LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company) jokingly. The LG G Flex is a 6-inch smartphone that flexes and bends and even withstands some pretty decent force (ever sat on your own phone?). Not only that, it has Wolverine’s healing ability, minor scratches get healed, like it never happened! Sounds like a scene from a sci-fi movie right? Well its true and Woo sees this as the future. “A lot of form factors like curved, bendable, foldable or wearable — you know the future. You can dream for the future. It will not be the same as today.” said Woo. He continued that “All the phones today are just flat, However, when you project the future, it will not be the same as today. So the G Flex is on the right.” The LG G Flex is a masterpiece in itself,  every major part of the device flexes. From the display to the glass, to the battery, everything is bendable. So do you see yourself owning a flexible smartphone in the future? Leave a shout...

Well behold the Samsung Galaxy Grand 2, the newest member of the Galaxy franchise with a 5.25 inch HD display. The Galaxy Grand 2 runs on a 1.2 Ghz Quad-core processor with 1.5GB of RAM and powered by Android 4.3 Jelly Bean out of the box. The Bigger HD screen makes movie viewing and multitasking a whole lot of fun, thanks to the upgrade from WVGA to HD (720p).  The battery has been also increased  from 2100 mAh to 2600 mAh which means a whole lot more gaming. When it comes to memory the smartphone has internal 8GB which is understandable considering it is after all a budget phone, but fret not it has a microSD card slot which can support uptill 64GB  so you are not running out of memory anytime soon. The camera at the back is 8MP shooter with the usual Samsung Smart features such as Best Face, Continuous Shot etc. When Samsung announced the device, they did not mention the price but it should not be more than $200 (unless Samsung go crazy with it….doubt it though). Samsung to unveil customized 64-bit CPU’s and new 4K smartphone displays next year

Samsung to unveil customized 64-bit CPU’s and new 4K smartphone displays next year

These days every other person has been talking about Samsung and why wouldn’t they? Since the last few years, the South Korean tech giants are on an absolutely remarkable role when it comes to innovations and creativity and currently ranks alongside with the world’s best. These accolades have been largely dependent on the company’s vision for the future and that is exactly what it has in store for us in the next two years. A few days back Samsung held its first Analyst Day event in Korea in almost eight years where it showcased some of its plans for the coming year and what we should expect to see in the year after that as well. There were two major announcements that has surely left many people quite excited….to say the least! Samsung in affiliation with ARM are currently working on their upcoming range of powerful mobile processors that would be structured on the 64-bit core architecture. According to inside scoops, Samsung are said to be coming up with their very own customized processing chips based on ARM’s architecture and would be an integral part of most of the devices that are scheduled to be launched next year with rumors suggesting that these new powerful chips might make their debut in Samsung’s next flagship phone, the Galaxy S5 but nothing has been confirmed so far. Samsung also revealed its plans for smartphone displays that include devices with AMOLED panels sporting 560ppi (pixel per inch) pixel density. These devices are expected to launch with WQHD resolution (2560×1440) next year but so far no official timeline has been mentioned. If that’s not impressive enough, wait till you read further. The company are also planning to launch the world’s first smartphones having 4K displays along with a few other flexible devices sometime in 2015. One such device has already been unveiled recently, the  Samsung Galaxy Round which has most certainly opened a gateway for similar looking devices in the future. The future is definitely looking quite bright for Samsung and even though its too early for us to go overboard with the praises, it is safe to say that we are indeed heading in the right direction. This company never seems to stay out of the spotlight does it ? But for now its kudos to Samsung and its entire team from all of us at TAP. Keep it up you...
