Samsung officially launches the Gear S2 and Gear S2 Classic

Samsung officially launches the Gear S2 and Gear S2 Classic

The wait is finally over guys!! After days of anticipation (and a whole bunch of leaked images), Samsung have finally launched their highly acclaimed Gear S2 smartwatch. What makes this device different from all their previous smartwatches is the fact that it’s the first circular smartwatch manufactured by Samsung. With the demand for circular watches on an all time rise now and with the recent successes of the Moto 360, the LG Watch Urbane and the Huaweii watch, Samsung also decided to finally make their presence felt in this particular market segment. Samsung, during their recent Unpacking Event where they announced the GALAXY Note 5 and the GAALXY S6 Edge Plus had shown a small teaser of their upcoming round faced watch but that was just about it. The South Korean tech giants always tend to have a bunch of surprises rolled up their sleeves and this time it was no different. Much to everyone’s delight, Samsung launched not one but two different variants; the Samsung Gear S2 and the Samsung Gear S2 Classic. Both watches feature circular 1.2-inch 360 x 360 resolution (302 ppi) sAMOLED displays along with physical rotating bezels and home/back buttons. According to Samsung, the S2 Classic which is only available in black with a matching genuine leather band is especially designed to cater to those individuals who prefer a more “timeless watch design”. The Gear S2 on the other hand has a more futuristic design and comes in two color variants: Dark gray with a matching gray strap and a sleek looking Silver version with a white Strap. Under the hood of both the devices, you will find a 1-GHz dual-core Exynos 3250 processor powered by Samsung’s own Tizen OS (personally speaking we would have preferred if it was Android Wear but it doesn’t really matter as long as the devices look sleek and trendy…Right?), 512MB RAM, 4GB of onboard storage, Wi-Fi support , a 250mAH battery which according to Samsung is enough to last for 2-3 days on a single charge, the usual sensors that include: Acc, Gyro, HRM and Barometer, IP68 Certification making both the devices water resistant and NFC support for mobile payments as well as wireless charging. Both watches are enclosed in an ultra sleek 11.4mm thin frame that further enhances their beauty. In another major announcement, Samsung have also promised to roll out a 3G enabled Gear S2 with a beefed up 300mAH battery and support for (a first of a kind) e-SIM for making voice calls directly from the watch. Sounds cool doesn’t it? Well guys that’s all the info we have regarding the watches till now. As far as the prices and...

Samsung’s two new power houses – The Samsung Galaxy Note 5 and the Galaxy S6 edge +

Samsung have taken out two giants this time, in the form of the Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 edge+. According to Samsung the the Galaxy Note 5 is built for the multi-tasker and the S6 edge+ is for those who want a high quality multimedia experience. Both devices in terms of specs are identical, except for the obvious differences such as the curved display of the s6 edge+ and the upgraded S-Pen found in the Note 5. Not only that both the devices run on Android 5.1 Lollipop with Samsung’s own Touch Wiz UX UI on top. Galaxy Note 5   The Galaxy Note 5 is no doubt a beast of a device and has a beautiful design to match. The device looks likes a bigger version of the Galaxy S6 in terms of design (good thing or bad thing that is up to you). Also, Samsung have always been ahead of the competition, in terms of display and yet again they lead the pack. The Galaxy Note 5 has a brilliant 5.7 inch Quad HD Super AMOLED Display with a whopping 518 ppi. Under the hood lies their in-house built 14 nm Exynos  7420 Octa core (2.1GHz Quad + 1.5GHz Quad) processor with 4GB of LPDDR4 RAM. The back of the device houses a 16MP shooter with OIS and supports 4K (UHD) recording. The Note 5 and Galaxy S6 edge + both come with Steady Video, which provides Video Digital Image Stabilization on both the front and rear cameras for sharp, crisp video on-the-go, and Video Collage Mode, which allows users to record and edit short videos easily in various frames and effects. Then there is Live Broadcast, which lets users instantly live streams Full HD video straight from the phone to any individual, group of contacts, or even the public through YouTube Live. Anyone who receives the YouTube link from a Galaxy S6 edge+ or Note5 user is able to enjoy live stream video from his or her smartphone, tablet, PC or Smart TV with YouTube connectivity. Now lets talk about the major selling point of the Note series, the S Pen. The S Pen has been redesigned quite a bit, and now features a click to open function. So, just press on the S Pen and will pop out. That makes it much easier and way faster than trying to pull out the pen manually. Some of the new features include an all new S Pen Air Command, the ability to right on the screen of the device even when it is off. This will come in really handy when you have to take notes in a hurry. Also, there...
