Galaxy S2 getting taste of Jelly Bean 4.1.2 in January 2013
The users of Samsung Galaxy S2 I9100 have been waiting anxiously for their devices to taste the yummy goodness that is Jelly Bean. Thanks to our friends at XDA Developers, the official leak of the 4.1.2 Jelly Bean firmware has been out since a while now and according to the reviews its quite stable but still not complete. Samsung had initially stated that the Galaxy S2 would receive the firmware update before the end of this year (2012), but seems that is out of the question now as Canadian carrier “Rogers” confirmed that their Samsung Galaxy S2 would be receiving the 4.1.2 JB update end of January.
Not only the S2, but the picture from Rogers shows the Galaxy Note (N7000) will be receiving the JB update at the same time as the S2, so generally the carrier versions get the update before international versions, so we can expect the international Galaxy S2 (I9100) to get the update early January 2013. Galaxy S2 users usually get major updates to their phones, like from Gingerbread to Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0.3, directly and now as promised hoping to get Jelly Bean 4.1.2, the owners have to just be patient a little while more and they could get a late Christmas present from the Samsung.
