Google Glass

After almost a year of waiting, Google have finally released the official specs for its next big thing when it comes to technology, the Google Glasses after shipping the first batch of these amazing devices to developers. Google had kept everybody in the shadow for months when rumors regarding the glasses initially surfaced last year but now it seems that we would be getting our hands on the device pretty soon. The Glasses which are all set to change our perception about the future come equipped with a five megapixel camera capable of recording videos in 720p, 12GB of on board memory which when synced with the Google cloud storage sums up to be 16GB in total. Coming to the connectivity options, the device currently only supports Wi-Fi and Bluetooth and is rumored to add future support for 3G and 4G LTE connectivity as well.

The glasses are compatible with any Bluetooth supported phone; the MyGlass companion app, however which enables GPS and SMS messaging requires Android 4.0.3 (Ice Cream Sandwich) to work. The Glasses can be paired with any Bluetooth enabled  phone and come with the MyGlass companion app which once installed, enables GPS and SMS messaging on any Android device running version 4.0.3 or higher.

Now coming to the battery life which is one of the main talking points of the device is expected to last for a whole day depending on the usage which would mostly include Google Hangouts, video conferences, voice calls etc. Till now no further details have been disclosed regarding the pricing of this device and according to Google, the price would only be disclosed once the glasses start rolling out to consumers next year. The search giants have also released the Application Program Interface (API) for developers who now have a licence to start developing their own customized applications that are compatible with the glasses.
