Samsung Smartphones will have 64 bit Processors in 2014
After Apple’s release of the first 64-bit OS and their launch of the iPhone 5C targeted for the Chinese market, Jong Kyun a Samsung Electronics executive stated
“Samsung understands that Apple intends to boost its mobile business in China, as well as in Japan, meaning that we should try harder in these countries”
This will be interesting to see how Samsung tackles this as Apple had optimized the iOS 7 for 64-bit processors while Android OS is not.
A 64-bit is necessary for all devices which have 4GB or more RAM, so Samsung is already upto 3GB with their latest flagship device the Galaxy Note 3, so maybe next year they will introduce a 4GB smartphone which runs on a 64-bit version of Android.
Next month is expected to be the launch of the all new Android 4.4 KitKat so maybe it would be coming with 64-bit support. These are still speculations, so only time will tell how this all pans out.
