HTC One Max is the next flagship from HTC and certainly one of the most highly anticipated smartphones of the upcoming months. With this remarkable device, HTC has made an entry in the domain of “phablets” where till now Samsung has reigned supreme. A lot of things about this phone are still in the domain of rumors, although some solid facts are available.
Currently, the company does not have any major event scheduled for this year. However, speculation still runs high that HTC would launch this phone in the market, before the end of this year. This could possibly happen during the Christmas season, although some rumors also have it that the company would do this during an event scheduled for October 17. Similarly, there is no official word about the price of the phone for the time being. Hopefully details about these facts would emerge in the next few days or weeks.
First carriers to be offering the One Max in US
If it were to take in consideration the tweets from evleaks, AT&T will be the first carrier supporting the HTC One Max followed by the CDMA version from Sprint and also Verizon.
Some pictures of the HTC One Max, said to be taken in a Verizon store while employing were testing it, have just come out revealing the One Max with Verizon’s branded logo.
It seems that HTC is looking to approach multiple carriers for the “max” version of its HTC One flagship. Although HTC One is now available with multiple service providers in the US, for the HTC One Mini version, HTC has chosen to launch the HTC One mini as an AT&T exclusive phone. Anyway even if you decide to buy a HTC One Max under contract, you shouldn’t be worry about staying tied up to your carrier for an year or two, as there are many professional services offering online unlocking solutions, like HTC IMEI Unlock, for HTC One, and soon for HTC One Max and HTC One mini. So you will be able to use the AT&T’s HTC One Max and HTC Mini with any compatible GSM network in the world.
What technical spec makes the One Max different from the HTC One
There are a lot of remarkable things about the HTC One Max phone which have garnered much attention among the critics as well as common users. To being with, this phone would have a full HD 5.9 inch display, never before seen on any HTC phone. Others in the competition include Samsung Galaxy Note with its 5.7 inch HD screen and Sony Xperia Z Ultra with an HD screen of 6.3 inches. The resolution of the screen is also no less remarkable at 1080 x 1920 pixels which is certainly among the best in the market.
HTC One Max would come with a powerful 2.3 GHz quad core processor. Besides, the phone would come with the same Snapdragon 800 chip that you would also see on Galaxy Note 3 and Xperia Z Ultra. This processor would be working in conjunction with 2GB of RAM memory. As for the operating system, we are still a bit unclear, although rumors point in the direction of Android 4.3 Jelly Bean. Previously, rumors about Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie and Android 4.0 KitKat have also existed.
The physical structure of this phone is not very different from HTC One. However, a new fingerprint scanner has been added on the back side of the phone. This would probably be similar to what Apple has done with Touch ID on its iPhone 5S. Internal structure would be different for the dual-SIM variant of the phone which would probably be aimed at the Asian market. So other than the fingerprint scanner on the back side, rest of the physique of the phone is pretty similar to HTC One.
Speaking of the rest of the technical specs of this giant of the device, we would have 16GB of internal storage capacity. Of course, you could enhance the internal storage up to 64GB with the supported microSD card. Other than that, we have 2.1 megapixel front facing camera and an UltraPixel rear end camera. The phone would be powered by a 3300mAh battery. Facts about various features of the back end camera are not available for the time being, but rumors indicate that the camera would be equipped with the capability of HDR video recording as well as different camera modes to suit the different situations. Further, it might also support various blemish correction tools and panorama feature. With these specs, we can easily include HTC One Max among the leading smartphones to hit the market in the next few days.
As per the expectation, this phone would be a giant hit and with it HTC will make a splash in the domain of phablets, an area where competition it not as tough as other areas. However, with the participation of Sony and the already clear presence of Samsung, things are getting warmed up on this front as well. Besides, it would most probably be difficult to give a tough time to Samsung for some time, because Samsung has established its firm user base with its remarkable Note phones, the latest version of which was recently launched and sold like hot cakes. Now all we need to see is whether HTC decides to launch this phone during the rumored late October event or would we have to wait till the end of the year.
