Nokia Pakistan welcomed the Nokia X smartphone to its Nokia family today. They have collaborated with one of Pakistan’s leading cellular services “Telenor” to launch the first ever Nokia smartphone running on Android. The Nokia X is an elegant looking device, the UI is unique, not like any android phone you find in the market these days. The UI is a hybrid of the Windows Tiles interface, backed with the worlds leading OS. This means that you have access to thousands of third-party apps, as well Nokia’s official apps.
“We believe that our new offering will resonate with consumers around the country and set a great precedent for the level of quality that can be achieved in the fast-growing, affordable smartphone segment” said Arif Shafique, Country General Manager, Nokia Pakistan & Afghanistan.
Omer Bin Tariq, Director Internet & Devices at Telenor Pakistan, added: “Telenor believes in empowering societies through communication technology, and our 6 months’ free internet offer with the Nokia X is aimed at extending the real benefits of internet to consumers in Pakistan. Telenor has further cemented its position as the leader in the internet area, and this co-launch is yet another step towards building a strong partnership between Telenor and Nokia”.
