New reversible USB 3.1 Type-C getting ready to connect the future
Following the success of the ultra fast (and useful) USB 3.0, a new entrant is readying itself to step into the market which is surely going to leave many people quite happy and the least bit frustrated…especially those who never seem to fit a standard USB in its slot the first time. Let’s admit it guys, no matter how many times you have plugged in a USB in any respective device, most of us tend to make the same mistake of slotting it in the wrong direction time and again which does prove to be frustrating at times isn’t it ? Well it seems that those days are to be left far behind now as we head towards a new breed of USB’s that are currently under the final stages of their worldwide release. The new USB’s known simply as ” Type-C” have been designed in such a way that you can insert them in both ways meaning you won’t have to go through any more tantrums and frustrations the next time you plan on watching a movie in your USB enabled TV, smartphone or any other USB bearing device.
Besides the new double sided reversible designs, the 3.1 USB’s would also feature 100W power delivery spec as well for rapid data transfer speeds and an overall minimum energy consumption. Even though hardware manufacturers are more than happy with current non-reversible USB connectors, apparently the USB 3.0 Promoter Group says the new Type-C design has been very well received and that “representatives from the PC, mobile, automotive, and IoT industries have been knocking down our door anticipating this new standard.” The new reversible USB’s are scheduled to roll out sometime next year. What needs to be seen now is exactly which OEM’s devices would be the first in line to try out this newly announced world’s most commonly used connectors. Any guesses?
